Unused Maps and Map PropsNow arriving to...Overwatch 1 Leftovers#
Being built on top of Overwatch 1, Overwatch 2 is bound to have some leftovers from the first game lurking on the game files. Due to the sheer number of leftover files and redundancy, most of these won't be shown here.
Competitive Ranks#
The original designs for the Bronze Rank, all the way to the Grandmaster Rank, are still in the game files.
Hero Portraits#
Overwatch 2 uses a built-in system that creates portraits directly to the game's memory, due to this, all of the portraits that were used in Overwatch 1 are now leftovers. The only portraits (that are used in-game) that actually have a graphic file are each one of the hero's default skin, which all of them were remade onto a new file due to the new designs introduced to the original heros.
Large Hero Portraits for Yeti Winston, Gargoyle Winston, Dragon Symmetra, Yeti Hunter Mei, Banshee Moira, Flying Dutchman Sigma, Ragdoll Echo, Coffin Bastion and Bride Sombra, are still in the game files, that were once used for limited-time events.
There were only a few times where SOME of these portraits were used, during the Overwatch Classic gamemode event. Even then, that only included the default look of each hero back in 2016, still leaving all of the portraits for specific skins unused.
Options Menu#
Very early graphics from the early days of Overwatch 1 still reside in the game files for 2.

Lootbox and Lootbox Bundles#
All the graphics regarding the purchase of Lootboxes are still in the game files, this includes Regular lootboxes and Event-related ones (such as Halloween Terror, Winter Wonderland, etc.). The sequel doesn't have an option to purchase a lootbox directly, leaving those unused.
Weekly Rewards#
Overwatch 1 had weekly unlockables pertaining to a specific event. These would include preview icons for the Skin (and sometimes Emote). While Overwatch 2 still have incentives to unlock things based on an event, all the original unlockables from 1 still include their original icons in the game files.
