bg_4

Text that seems to detail the stage's plot. Given the length of some of these, these were most likely used as placeholders until the illustrations were implemented.

/01/bg_18 (Unused)

/07c/bg_2 (Used)

An alternate version of Yamagata's "dejected" pose with text.

Yamagata looking up with papers in her hands. Appears to line up with the scene where she notices Junior, but she immediately switches from looking down to a "lovestruck" pose sans papers in the final cutscene.

Mockup

Final

Yamagata's co-workers shouting orders before each scene. The co-workers all have different designs, and the perspective of the scene has shifted.

08b_1 (Opening)#

bg0_s

bg1_s

The stage's title seems to have changed slightly—the normal text has been updated, but the slanted text the game uses when moving the text on- and off-screen was untouched.

11 (Scene 1)#

Impact lines, meant for the 100s and/or 300s animation.

bg11_t (Unused)

bg10_t (Used)

Yamagata hunched over the copying machine. Possibly an alternate pose for the 50s/miss animation.

14gd (Midsection Cutscene 1 — Good Ending)#

Yellow-green impact lines. Meant to appear around Yamagata's head as she delivers items to Junior.

Yamagata looking very happy and very distraught, likely reactions to passing or failing a stage. It's also worth noting that these are stored in the same folder as Yamagata's "fired up" sprite, as well as the green arrows pointing towards the bottom screen—it's possible this was the early transition scene from cutscene back to gameplay.

16 (Scene 2)#

More impact lines, only these are drawn directly onto the background rather than being a separate object.

bg8 (Unused)

bg9 (Used)

Yamagata angrily attempting to make tea. Again, likely an alternate pose for the 50s/miss animation.

obj0_t (11)

obj0_t (12)

obj0_t (13)

A teapot and very tiny text. Likely meant for the 50s/miss animation.

19gd (Midsection Cutscene 2 — Good Ending)#

A very early version of the cutscene of Yamagata delivering tea to Junior. Yamagata looks less flustered, Junior has a different appearance, and the yellow-green impact lines from 14gd are visible. Since the whole scene is a single object as opposed to being made up of multiple sprites, it's possible this was just used as a mockup until the sprites were ready.

20gd (Midsection Cutscene 2 — Good Ending)#

Early

Final

The early appearance of Junior from 19gd, now in sprite form.

22 (Scene 3)#

bg2 (Early)

bg3 (Final)

An early, shorter variant of the onomatopoeia that appears in the 50s/miss animation.

bg14

bg15

Yamagata frantically looking back and forth. The pose is similar to the 300s animation, but the expression suggests it's for a 50s/miss animation.

/22/bg9 (Early)

/22_N3/bg6_sb (Final)

Yamagata reaching back for a phone. Mostly similar, but her right arm was redrawn and the right hand becomes a part of this sprite (as opposed to a separate object).

26 (Midsection Cutscene 3 — Good Ending)#

Early

Final

Junior holding the phone. The early tanner skin tone is visible in the tile, and there appears to be no text on the phone itself.

31a (Ending)#

bg2

bg3

The digital clock in the ending displaying 5 PM, only written in 24-hour notation. No equivalent for the intro (2 PM) exists.

32 (Ending)#

An odd-looking sprite of Yamagata winking.
