Unused Text#

This needs some investigation.

Specifically: Are these actually unused, or merely extremely obscure?

509	.Here Come The 'Cuffs.	Enforcers say "Follow Me Out. And Don't Try Anything!" when handcuffing you. However, the full stop at the beginning of the string suggests that this is a supplementary comment a ship makes when being arrested; is this used in the screensaver?
557	I Wish I Had More Backup. I'll Get You!	Seems to be an Enforcer issuing a threat.
576	If You Try That Again, You'll Be Terminated!	Seems to be an Enforcer-issued warning that a Terminator will be sent after you.
709	BEYOND REASON	Appears to be the highest grade a ship can be assigned according to how powerful it is. If this is not unused, just how powerful does a ship need to be? The other grades are (from highest to lowest) ALMIGHTY, INVINCIBLE, STUPENDOUS, EXCEPTIONAL, EXCELLENT, VERY TOUGH, TOUGH, RESPECTABLE, OKAY, WEAK, A PUSHOVER, FEEBLE, and DEFENSELESS, all of which are used and commonly seen.
2543	Drive %s is not a CD drive. Reinstall from Inner Space CD to fix.	These are present on the floppy disk version. Was Operation: Inner Space ever released on CD?
2544	The CD in drive %s is not Inner Space. Please change CDs and try again.

Revisional Differences#

Earlier versions? The game was released in 1994.
Standard Edition V1.09.04 has yet another style of logo screen.

On version 1.29.08, you (the player) appear grey on the radar. On earlier versions, you appear blue.
The game logo screen of the Standard Edition has purple text, and the Plus Edition has gold text:

Sorry, we can not sell such powerful items until you order the full version of Inner Space.
You can't play the Inner Demon subgame until you order the full version of Inner Space.
To enter, you must pay for the full game version.
Game saving is a handy feature of the full version of Inner Space.
The restore game feature only works in the full version of the game.
With Limited Inner Space, you can only use the Transformer ship.
If you order the full game package, all ships are available.
I'm afraid you're history, but take heart. If you order the full Inner Space package, the enhanced features will let you kick butt like never before!

Naturally, these are used in the unregistered Standard Edition and not the registered Plus Edition, even though they remain present.

Inner Space Plus Pack Remnants#

There are remnants of an Inner Space Plus Pack, including a dialogue box explaining it. The Plus Pack seems to have been either cut or superseded, as the add-ons currently available are The Works! Ship Builder's Kit, the Military ship set, and the Nations ship set.

Cheat codes#

Press Delete to toggle cheat mode (score turns white). Then press one of the following keys. These were used by the developers to facilitate testing.
