Unused Screenpacks#

Found in data/kfm is a screenpack for Kung Fu Man that's not enabled by default. Only the title screen for this screenpack was modified, since the rest of it is just the WinMugen screenpack. It also includes an intro cutscene upon booting the game up.

WinMugen Leftover#

Also in data is the default WinMugen screenpack.

Unused Graphics#

Found in the work/kfm folder is tzanko03buff.png, an unused sprite of Kung Fu Man doing a scrapped variant of Kung Fu Zankou shown to be ripped.

Unused Game Mode#

Present in 0x9DDAC in the executable is a label for a tag-team mode ("Tag", which would have been chosen in the team mode selector) that would have been used in team matches, a feature that was never implemented.

There are also two undocumented state controller (SCTRL) commands for character scripting relating to this feature, called tagin and tagout, mentioned in 0xA1C04 and 0xA1C24 of the executable, respectively. Only tagin actually functions if programmed to a character, however, and only if a partner is present. Support for both states were dropped in v1.1 and replaced with "Tag", which is both tagin and tagout merged into one. However, it references tagout which still exists in the code, but had its ID removed, so it doesn't work besides printing a "PlayerSCtrlApplyElem" error message and thus breaking characters that rely on the tagout function.

Unused Sound#

In Kung Fu Man's .SND file, in audio track 7, he has an unused sound clip of him saying "Ta!" No attack has this sound coded in any of the moves, so this clip is unused.

This voice clip is also in early DOS MUGEN builds, also unused.

Revisional Differences#

v1.1#

Beta 1#

  • This version added a console where you can put commands in, activated via pressing Ctrl + ~ or vice-versa, This existed in the alphas but it was more simplistic.
  • A undocumented sctrl "Zoom" was added where it can adjust the zooming of the camera.
