Unseen Story Intro Subtitles#

Watch on YouTubeThe Story Intro that plays when creating a new save file has a full set of subtitles, however, through a combination of subtitles not being enabled by default and the fact that this video only ever plays once on a given save, they are impossible to see normally. If the game is modified to load this video elsewhere, e.g. the Tutorials menu, the subtitles will display as intended (provided they're enabled in Settings, of course).

The Imagisphere is the energy that binds LittleBigPlanet and all its moons and satellites together. A force so powerful even the Negativitron could not bend, crack or deplete it. But it needs a guardian. It needs a caretaker. It needs….you.
A dyed in the wool LittleBigPlanetian. An adventurer. A stern, focused, enigmatic, hero...
Uh-oh, theeeeey’re here.
LittleBigPlanet is once again under threat. This time from The greedy grabbing Hoard. The Hoard scavenge and collect prizes, materials and objects but never use these treasures to create and share – all they want to do is keep. To stash. To hoard.
No Sackfriend, your little legs may be perfectly knitted but even they are no match for the Hoard and their Rag ‘N’ Bone Racers. This is a battle to be fought in a different arena. A race track. You need some wheels, my child.
Aha! Commandeer that kart and make it your own! Quickly, young sackling put the pedal to the metal! We know you’ll take this mission seriously!
Semi-seriously?
(SIGH) Oh crikey. (HOPEFUL) Umm, anyone for driving lessons?

Garden Grip (before first visit)

amb_sto_1-1_garden_grip_01

Let the Sack Race begin as it’s time for your first foray into Imagi-Karting. There are mild perils to be faced in the shape of those greedy, grabby Hoarders. Scoundrels to a man, but you can’t blame them for wanting to collect all the goodies, prizes and lovely lovely things littered about the Imagisphere. The King O’Everything, some old chumblies and some new friends are all waiting to see what you can do, so there’s no pressure.

Target Practice (before first visit)

amb_sto_weapon_hunter_01

Time to get to know a thing or two about WEAPONATORS. They hold all the barmy ballistic devices you’ll ever need for politely nudging aside those Sunday-drivers or lane-changing-weavers who might otherwise spoil a nice peaceful race. In this game you’ll get random weapons so you can learn their names and what they do. Collect as many WEAPONATORS as you can before the Hoard A.I. thingy hits you 3 times. They’re so annoying when they do that, aren’t they?

Self Defence (before first visit)

amb_sto_secondary_defense_01

This mini-game is all about accuracy and firing weapons forwards and backwards. Forwards is a doddle, back firing is a little trickier. To explain, one of the features on your kart’s virtual dashboard is the L.D.S.M. warning light, this means a Lovey Dovey Seeker Missile has the hots for you and has you in its sights. Fired by the Hoard’s lackies, The Drastic Plastic Exploders, the missile has to be destroyed by firing weaponry at it backwards. So, you need a WEAPONATOR. Pull back on your LEFT STICK and press the WEAPON button to back fire and blast that overly friendly explosive device out of the sky. Cruel to be kind and all that.

Mine the Gap (before first visit)

amb_sto_1-4_the_mines_01

Prize Bubbles! Or as we call them during a race, PRIZE BUBBLES. They’re like fairies in a field, blink and you’ll miss them, don’t look for them and you’ll never see them. Keep y’peepers peeled for the big rewards. Beware though, The Hoard’s lackies, the Drastic Plastic Exploders, have secreted hidden explosives around which when detonated may reveal hidden paths to greater PRIZE BUBBLES. Make sure you get to them first!

Sackboy RC (before first visit)

amb_sto_racing_versus_challenge_1-5y_sackboy_rc_01

In days of yore, before the advent of consoles and formats, gamers who wanted to bash karts around had to go outside and literally push them along by hand in the dirt. Pioneers they were! You young ‘uns can experience some of that raw adrenalin right now in this Versus Challenge. Only 2 to 4 players can take part, but only the toughest need apply. And be sure you have enough provisions with you in case you trash y’trolley out there in the Imagisphereal wilderness because it might be days before a rescue party finds you. Good luck, or as we used to say back in the day... good luck.

Craftworld GP (before first visit)

amb_sto_1-5a_sackboy_gp_01

This is a high octane, seat of your pants, circuit race. You’ve got a souped up racing kart with a first person camera. You’ll need to brake on the corners to keep control of your kart and keep an eye on your fuel gauge too, you burn it up pretty quickly on this track. There’s fuel available in the pit stops, but no toilet facilities or shops selling dodgy sandwiches and stuff for a barbecue, so think on.

Egg Kartin' (before first visit)

amb_sto_2-5_egg_kartin_01

This game incorporates the unaffectionately-titled KEEP AWAY MODE. Wretched, isn't it? But it serves a purpose. It’s your job here to protect Huge Monster’s egg. Those greedy, grabby Hoard are after it so you need to make good use of your GRABINATOR. You and the other Sackboys must hold onto Huge Monster's egg at all costs – The Hoard will try to do the same. When you’re near the egg, press and hold the GRAB BUTTON to hang onto it. Take a hit while you’re in possession and you’ll drop it so lots to remember: keep up the good work, don’t have a panic attack and brush your teeth. Good lad.

Star Fishin' (before first visit)

amb_sto_cooperative_challenge_2-2x_starfishin_01

The best 3 things to share are Love, Sandwiches and LittleBigPlanet Cooperative levels – in that order. Work with friends, acquaintances or just people you’re on nodding terms with to achieve the greatest scores in these. LittleBigPlanet, it’s a sharing thing.

Future Perfect (before first visit)

amb_sto_4-1_future_perfect_01

Sometimes it’ll be necessary to dispense with the formality of gravity and enter the airspace of the Imagisphere. It’s practically flying – consider it an over extended leap, or A Big Air Moment as we hardly ever call them. You will still need to control your Kart during flight, namely Air Control and Spin Skills. Steer your airborne trolley with the LEFT STICK and spin it with the RIGHT STICK. Big Air Moments normally occur after letting go of something that’s levitated you, or you’ve gone on a long drive up a short ramp. And there’s absolutely no need to worry about the air bag deploying in time during landing because there is no air bag. Problem solved.

Monster Trucks (before first visit)

amb_sto_4-6_tanks_for_all_the_fish_01

The Hoard have commandeered some delivery trucks, armour plated ones so we’ve ‘tanked up’ your kart. It’s now got DIRECT CONTROL technology to make handling, steering and firing simpler. Press the LEFT STICK in the direction you want to go. Bring back safety to the city streets by blasting the Hoard off the road with extreme weaponry. We're taking back the streets!... or at least what's left of them by the time you're finished.

2.0 Bee Or Not 2.0 Bee (before first visit)

amb_sto_6-1_2_0_bee_or_not_2_0_bee_01

The famous LittleBigPlanet Imagis-physicist pig, Albert Fineswine, once calculated ‘S.O.T., that’s Speed Of Thought, plus F, Friction, equals D.D. squared, that’s Dream Drag.’ To put it plainly a kart with a Hovercraft Skirt can go much faster than one with road wheels. Wow! Fineswine was brilliant. We should never have turned him into sausages. Still, his legacy lives on in the shape of the Bee 2.0 Hover-Kart which you can use in this next race. Also, we improved Albert’s initial design by giving some of the Hover-Karts bigger speed-o-meters so they can go EVEN faster. You can try those too, if you dare.
