Kenny Dalglish Soccer Match (Commodore 64)

Kenny Dalglish Soccer Match is a very sad simulacrum of a soccer game.

Unused Text#

Starting from 0x1549 of the second freeload data segment (equivalent to KCODE98 in the prototype release) is placeholder text for the league table displayed when there's more than two players in the current game. It is incomplete; the data cuts off before Player 4's team name and stats are listed.

THE LEAGUE TABLE
TEAM              PLD  W  D  L  F  A  PT
PLAY2  2          02   01 01 00 01 00 04

Further below, at offset 0x5400, is placeholder text for the score display.

Text Oddity#

While each of Kenny's comments are always displayed in uppercase letters, the actual strings, found in the first freeload data segment (equivalent to KDATA19 in the prototype release), have proper casing, as noted below:

Halfgame

   Come on Lads,
   We Must Win.

    Play Fair,
    But Hard

      We Want
      A Good
     result

    Go For An
    Early Goal

   Watch Their
    Number 10

  Pass The Ball
     Early

Win

     Well Done!

   Great Match!

Loss

    Great Game,
    Poor Result

   Unlucky Lads

Draw

   Another Goal
   And We'd Won
