Katana HERO was an April Fool's joke released on April 1, 2023. This version of the game is more akin to a weird family-friendly bootleg, turning ZERO into a Spirit Hunter who must banish all the evil spirits from the city and stop the evil Dr. Edo.

Despite being a joke, it contains some interesting hints towards the upcoming Free DLC, along with some interesting files left in.

Secret Music Tracks#

A secret RNG mechanic was included for some of the songs. There's a low chance that an alternative version of the song will start playing instead of the normal track. This has been confirmed to be a fun experiment by the team, though it's unknown if it will be used in the upcoming free DLC. All the RNG songs start with "music_" instead of "song_" and they must be ripped from game's executable to be accessed. All songs seem to be composed by Bill Kiley.

song_thirddisstrack.ogg		This song is not an RNG track and uses the standard "Song_" format, as well as not being hidden in the executable. This will play every time you reach the V boss fight in Studio. It is a shitpost version of the song "Third District".
music_breath_serpent_alt.ogg		A goofy, silly mix of "Breath of a Serpent".
music_chinatown_alt.ogg		A Mega Drive remix of "Chinatown".
music_radio_alt.ogg		The most mysterious track. This version is called "Red Mist Alternative", which seems to indicate it's an RNG song for "A Fine Red Mist" in the hotel lobby. It is not confirmed yet if it can be activated. It is a variation of "End of the Road" with weird alternative instruments, as Bill Kiley confirmed in a Discord AMA.
