To do: |
To keep this page short, and not to fill it with information not necessarily suitable for this page, this page will only document instances of cosmetics / textures being changed post-release, such as Apu being white-washed, or when Epic has accidentally pushed incorrect assets live, and things like hot-fixed text.
Chapter 6#
Mini-Season 2: The Simpsons#
Upon launch of the Season, inside of Moe's tavern are several different references to the Simpsons, a few photos on the wall referencing various scenes, with one specifically referencing The Be Sharps, a band consisting of Skinner, Barney, Homer, and Apu.
For some reason, this picture had Apu changed into a random incidental character, and when brought to Epic's attention, they apologized, and it was fixed in the following patch.
Hotfixed Strings#
Fortnite, like many other live service titles, has a function to hotfix changes, this allows for Epic to change cosmetics, map locations, quest names, and even game mechanics on the fly without an update, and over the years this has produced some funny results.
For info on Hotfixed Outfits, please visit the Unused Cosmetics page.
Challenges#
When CH6 MS2 first dropped, the Challenges for the upcoming weeks were in the files, albeit dummied out with "I will not datamine", which is a reference to the Simpsons intro gag of Bart writing something that typically starts with "I will not [blank]" on a chalkboard. Additionally, the text of such could be Epic Games teasing users for datamining, as the Fortnite leaking scene is quite big.

When CH7 S1 first dropped, just like MS2, the challenges were placeholders in the files, just reading "Do the Thing!" for all weeks.
Points of Interest (POIs)#
Chapter 2#
Coral Castle Upon the launch of Coral Castle, they forgot to hotfix the location name in, so for a few hours the location was just named it's codename, "
The Simpsons (Chapter 6 Mini-Season 2)#
Corruption Corners While this was the name of the Mayor's POI in early footage, upon launch this location was renamed to "Mayor's Munchies" before very quickly being reverted back to the original name, presumably because of the Weed implication in the previous name.
