Stadium Events is one of only two games in the Family Trainer series (the other being Athletic World) that were released in North America. Nintendo purchased the North American rights to the games and the Family Fun Fitness mat (which was rebranded as the Power Pad) in 1988, and both games were recalled.

Although only about 200 copies of the US Stadium Events are believed to exist, the game can still be found rather easily under its much more well-known title World Class Track Meet.

In addition to the logo and text differences, Running Stadium has a dark blue sky whereas Stadium Events has a light blue one. The Japanese flags were also replaced with US ones, the colors of the stadium background were changed and the whole thing was moved 2 tiles up to accommodate the longer copyright text.

While Stadium Events uses a logo in the same style as the one in Running Stadium, World Class Track Meet uses a completely different logo, along with darkening the background color (similar to that of the original game, but a bit less saturated), recoloring the option text from dark blue to white, changing the stadium colors yet again, and moving everything down 1 tile to accommodate the shorter copyright text. The "Mat B" graphic was also changed to match the mat's rebranding.

The Tournament opponent swapped species, and some awkward English was cleaned up, alongside the text being moved down.
