This is a sub-page of Driver: San Francisco (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, Mac OS X).

Several missions planned for inclusion in Driver: San Francisco were scrapped, either due to technical constraints presented by the game's engine at the time or because of pacing issues.

High Blood Pressure#

High Blood Pressure is a stunt mission that requires the player to transport three ambulances to their intended destination while keeping the patient's heart rate stable. Later in the mission, the player must also avoid damage from enemy vehicles.

PIPs for this mission remain in the final release.

Tanker on Fire#

Tanker On Fire is a scrapped firefighting segment meant to be played during the game's introduction sequence, otherwise known as the "Exposition" chapter. It was scrapped midway through the game's development, and the full logic for this mission does not exist in the game's code, save for mission definition data, two related leftover activities (which code exists for) and a vehicle actor warmup route. It later evolved into Handle with Care, which carries a similar objective but involves defusing bombs with ordinary sedans, rather than using fire trucks.

According to leftover code for related stunt activities and in the mission's definition data, the player is to shift into and use up to six fire trucks and drive near the burning oil trailer truck. The burning trailer truck must not reach a certain temperature, or it will explode and the mission will fail entirely. Each fire truck is equipped with an individual water payload that will be used to extinguish the burning oil tanker.

PIPs for this mission remain in the final release.

Loretta: Hey, Dad? Is... is that smoke?

Leo: Where? ...Oh no, it's coming from the tank! Loretta, we've got to get out of the truck!

Loretta: We can't just leave it to explode in the street, Dad!

The audio track for this video is pitched at a higher frequency and desynchronizes with the actual visual content.

The passenger model shown here is Jack (used in the news van stunt missions), although their voice is different; implying that Loretta's mesh was not modeled in for cinematics by the time this PIP was created. The lighting rig in this video (along with Tanner's model), however, reflects the variations included in the final game release, suggesting that the associated PIP was unintentionally re-rendered at one point.

Tanner: Listen! This is important! You- I mean, we... We need to keep doing a steady speed. We need to get the tanker away from the center of town... in case.

Loretta: "In case" what?

Tanner: Don't worry, the fire department will get to us. I promise.

Tanner: Listen carefully, and we'll be fine. You make sure that I keep her steady; the fire trucks are about to arrive. Trust me.

Dispatcher: Units 5 through 9, priority: We have a code 1-5; reports of a tanker in trouble.

Firefighter: ...How the hell?

Tanner: Lucky guess. Let's hose down the tanker, or whatever you guys do.

Firefighter: "You guys?" I think you should look a little closer to home, Redge. You're like a magnet for traffic or something.

Tanner: Let's get this thing moving.
