Unused Objects/Sprites#

Starman#

An early version of the Heart enemy, seen in the Limited Alpha version.

Early Death Counter#

The only difference between this one and what's used in-game is that this one doesn't have X symbols on Dan's eyes.

Princess Gibs#

Also used in the Limited Alpha but unused in the full game. They act almost like Dan's gibs when he dies.

Trash Icon#

Also used in the Limited Alpha but unused in the full game. Removed because the Delete Save option was moved to the main menu Options.

Dark Background#

Used in every version previous to 1.87.0 as a "night" background

Kaiser Placeholder#

Probably one of the oldest files in game, is self explanatory what is this and what it was used for

Least Deaths#

Also a very old file, went unused since 1.87.0. Was used for showing how much times you died in a level

Unused Variables#

Lives#

At some point in development, Dan used a lives system instead of a death counter. Even if it is unused, you start with 3 lives with a new Save Data, and you can get a extra life if you get 100 coins in a level. The lives system does works without any extreme modifications to the game changing one line in "gml_Object_o_control_Draw_0" script can recover this mechanic back in the HUD of any level, with a little bit of extra modding can be added to any level

Deaths by each enemy#

There's a variable that defines how much times each enemy killed you, such as:

  • Coins
  • Cupcakes
  • Hearts
  • Fairies
  • Clouds
  • Bananas
  • Marshmallow platforms
  • Burnt by Fire flowers

The only "death types' that aren't counted is dying by being squashed with an elevator platform and a ceiling, and being hit with a cherry, both of which are counted just as regular deaths and are added to the Total Deaths counter in the Leaderboards.

Oddities#

  • In the Data.win file of the game, the current version is 1.00.0, and in the game the version is 1.01.0.
  • Not an oddity at all, but Danny's head is used as a placeholder of bobble head custom versions, which you could acquire by paying $50 at the game's Kickstarter at the time it was available.

Unused Audio#

N_weaksauce.mp3
A clip of Danny Sexbang saying "Get that weak sauce shit out of my fucking house." Used in 1.87.0 (Pre release version), when Danny Sexbang kills a enemy

N_dannyNoo.mp3
Even though it has "danny" and "noo" in the name, it's just a weird whooshing sound.

N_enemy_jump.mp3
Just an unused Dan voice clip.

Miscellaneous#

Headless Dan#

When Danny is enabled, a Headless Dan is seen if Danny's head gets removed, this is how it looks in multiple sprites.

Level Names#

Most of the levels have a name, this is never seen in a regular gameplay. Here are levels and their respective name as their "Room name":

  • level 1 - level1_habitattack
  • level 2 - level2
  • level 3 - level3
  • level 4 - Falling_For_It
  • level 5 - Heartless_Tower
  • level 6 - Flora_Food
  • level 7 - Fruity_Foray
  • level 8 - Bubble_Trubble
  • level 9 - Low_Expectations
  • level 10 - Sugar_Rush
  • level 11 - Sticky_Situation
  • level 12 - Hazard_Shmazard
  • level 13 - Cupcake_Mountain (The most obvious one)
  • level 14 - Cloud_Run
  • level 15 - Leaps_and_Bounds
  • level 16 - Compartments
  • level 17 - The_Crag
  • level 18 - Tinney3::
  • level 19 - Fancy_Feats
  • level 20 - Roller_Toaster

some of the levels have names of the archievement that you get in that level, for example: Habit Attack: Complete Level 1 without jumping more than 3 times.

Cheat Codes#

For the cheat codes to work, you need to type any of them in the first 20 seconds of the game (When the Main Menu shouws up). Going to the main menu resets this internal timer.

  • "=l3v=": makes you go to the next level/bonus stage.
  • "-l3v-": makes you go to the previous level.
  • "giterdan": unlocks every level in game.
  • "victorytea": shows a pop-up that says "Select cutscene 1-5", typing any number from 1-5 on it makes you go to that cutscene.

Dan is synced to Level Select music#

When dan moves a slot in the level select,if it's timed with the first "riff" of the organ instrument, Dan stops when every "Riff" stops, making the illusion that Dan moves at the rhythm of the level select music

Other#

  • Multiple game strings refer to the turtle as "Kaiser". This is likely intended to be a parallel of sorts to Bowser's Japanese name of "King Koopa".
  • The name of the sprite of the Goomba looking enemies is "Noomba", like what happens to Kaiser parodying Bowser's Japanese name
