Start your own cult in a land of false prophets, venturing out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland Followers and spread your Word to become the one true cult.

Unused Items#

Shield#

Fully functional. Pressing the attack button does a shield bash, holding the attack button makes the player hold the shield in front, deflecting projectiles and damaging proximite enemies. Shield has a health bar that gets refilled once the shield is put down. Heavy attack is also implemented.

Unused Sewer Area#

Leftover in the game are numerous unused graphics for an also unused Sewer Area. These include mushrooms, pipes, "Sewer Tentacles", flags, torches and more. Being found in the folder for the games dungeons, it's possible this was a planned dungeon biome that was scrapped from the game.

Test graphic for a (at the time) scrapped feature of a Mating Tent. This is the only leftover string relating to "Mating", a feature which was eventually added in via the Sins of the Flesh content update.

HippyTent#

Similar to the Mating Tent, this is another unused tent related to an unknown "Hippy". It also has an associated rug for it too.

Scarificationist_Tent#

Yet another unused tent, this time associated with a "Scarificationist". This appears to have been meant for some sort of scrapped scarring mechanic in the game.

Wheat Crop#

As seen in early development gameplay, this game originally had some wheat crops that could be farmed. Although this crop isn't seen in the final game, the graphics for it remain leftover.

Scrapped Woolhaven dialogue#

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Are there any screenshots or footage of pre-release Woolhaven DLC before the story was revamped?

Woolhaven DLC had a different story that was scrapped. Some related dialogue is still present in localization file.

General changes:

  • The story begins with a wolf (probably Marchosias) concealed as a lamb getting rescued by the Lamb from Executioner
  • Marchosias tricks the Lamb into awakening winter and possibly killing them.
  • An NPC internally named Lambtau serves as a guide for Woolhaven town
  • Executioner works for Marchosias
  • Marchosias gets possessed by Yngya after his boss fight
  • Marchosias is the designer of puzzles
  • Haro is more involved, providing information about dungeons and resources
  • Kudaii repairs legendary weapons instead of Rami
  • The Gardener requires followers to deposit in his garden
  • The Gardener sells bug followers
Executioner executing Lamb (wolf)
It's... you!
You should not have come here, foolish beast.
Wolves! Do not l-let them leave!
F-foul creature, you will r-r-regret this!

Wolf first time meeting lamb
Are you really here? Do my ageing eyes deceive me? It cannot be…
I thought I was the last… yet here you are. Bearing the <color=#FFD201>Red Crown</color>... but…
After all this time… finally… you’ve come home.

Balloon revealed.
Use this <color=#FFD201>sky-climber</color> to ascend to the mountain's peak.
Do not dawdle.
<color=#00FFCA>She</color> has been waiting a long time.

Mountain peak.
<color=#00FFCA>She</color> was slain long ago. Perhaps too long.
But perhaps something remains, hm <color=#FD1D03>Red Crown</color>?

Lamb NPC first time meeting in base
Ooh… lamby… real lamby, ooh…
Hello! Hello! Watched you climb, yes all the way, watched Wolf go <wave>chomp chomp...</wave>
Sad... lamby got ate... but maybe there's more!? So came here to look!
Made in the mountain, yes we were! Watched the lambs, learned from lambs! But lambs all gone...
Until you! Wolf tricked you! Tricked into untying winter! Cold, cold, <shake>brr…</shake>
Take care of flock! Flock gets cold, gets <shake>dead.</shake>
Cold won’t last long… this time. Wolf feeds winter, makes winter worse! So come visit soon, hmm? Yes, visit us please!

Lamb NPC onboards Lamb Town
Ahhh! You came! Hello, yes welcome, welcome!
See this town? Full of lambs, long ago! But not anymore… now it is full of me!
Had friends… lots of friends… lived in town together, made things, traded things…
Wolf doesn’t like us. Took all my friends, keep them on mountain. Sad, sad.
Maybe… you will find them? Yes, yes! Find them and bring them here. We make you things! Trade you things!

Lamb NPC onboards Dungeon 6
…scary in there.
Holy bodies left to rot... God blood drip, drip, drip...
Sins of the past cast here to be forgot...
Careful, careful! Find what you want, maybe… or maybe not…

OnboardDLCEntrance
Leader, I was wandering the grounds when... well... look over there!

YngyaShrine/Bark
White as wool, who calls? <br> Child of the flock, who calls?

Yngya/WinterProgression/OLD_Intro
I will see you safely away from here. Go, my lamb.
Do not fear the cold. Others may perish, but our kind was made for this.

Yngya/WinterProgression/First
A precious lost soul, a lamb, returned to the flock.

Yngya/WinterProgression/Second
Another path opens, my lamb.

Yngya/WinterProgression/Fourth
Does doubt seep into your heart, Shepherd? It is only natural. As ice breaks open earth over time, doubt plays a part in the nature of Faith.
But do not forget what they did to Us. Do not forget that the world has forsaken Us. Do not forget that <shake>truth</shake> awaits you.

Story/Dungeon6/Executioner3
Things get trapped here. They d-don’t die. They don’t live. They just… rot.
Nothing leaves this place. This… this bitter place.
Not even me.

Story/Dungeon6/Executioner4
WHY... is this <shake>thing</shake> still here? My work... my work! Stop lazing and <color=#FD1D03>cut off its little head.</color>
The pest still persists. Why? You know how important my work is, girl. So stop lazing about and <shake>cut off its damn head.</shake>
Y-yes, <color=#FFD201>Marchosias</color>!
I was always the w-weakest of the pack.
But I was obedient. I was made to be o-o-obedient. I swung <color=#FFD201>the axe</color>. I herded the souls. I served <color=#FFD201>the Bishops</color>.
But <color=#FFD201>Marchosias</color> was different. He did not want to serve anymore. He wanted to choose his fate.
He asked me if I would help him. Asked, not told. And you are here still because of that. Why can’t you be grateful?

Wolf/YngyaFight/Intro
Ha… hngh… the <wave>lucky lamb…</wave>
Nothing… without a… <color=#FD1D03>Crown</color>…
I do not need… such baubles…
<color=#FD1D03>I make my own power.</color>

Wolf/YngyaFight/Transform
Stupid beast.
The Wolf came here years ago, seeking knowledge yet shunning wisdom.
He claimed this mountain as his, defiled it with his rank experiments. As though I were gone.
<shake>My bitter spirit did not die with me.</shake>
His mind was already weak. In the cold, cracks form. With every snowflake that fell upon him, I broke him open.
And now I have form. I can be freed from this mountain to do my work. To <color=#00FFCA>purify this world</color>.
That includes you, my lamb. I am sorry. But you, too, have been sullied.

Conversation_NPC/Wolf/YngyaFight/Midfight
They tried to destroy me.
<shake>They slaughtered our kin</shake>.
Yet you so proudly wear his <color=#FD1D03>Crown?</color>
They have warped you. Dirtied you. You do not belong in my pure new world.

YngyaShrineSmallBark/Dungeon5
A prayer to yngya is a prayer to long life

Haro/DLCPath
Twas a land of many Gods, once. Yet here thy stand now, endling to lineage divine. Can thou bear to be the last?
Or, perchance... can thou bear to be anything other than the last?
Seek, proud Lamb, and hope to uncover whether the nature of Gods is a kindly one.

Speaking: Haro (he/him)\nTelling you that Yngya is reaching out to you
<color=#FFD201>Yngya</color> grants you a gift for the lost souls you send to her. She grows stronger and in return she grants you winter's knowledge.
Take what is given. Unlock the <color=#FFD201>Rotburn Furnace</color> at the <color=#FFD201>Shrine,</color> and build it - for without its warmth, thy followers shall surely <shake>perish.</shake>

Haro/StoryRoom/Rot
Sacrifice is thine old friend, Lamb.
Tis in the blood of thy kind. Sacrifical beasts, though nought remember if the First Gods did decree so, or perchance some other made it so.
Such cruelty must decay the heart. Can thou blame the beast that bites, known the beast was bit in turn?

Yngya/LambGhost/First
Within the flock, my Disciples loved me most. They loved me with such fervor, they would not let me go...
Baraqiel was one. There were others. They call to me, as I call to them.
Please, shepherd. Their <color=#FFD201>wool</color> houses their spirits. Bury them around me, so we might be together once more.

Haro/YngyaShrine
Once, these lands were rife with Gods and their adherents.
What remains? Precious haven, now decayed. History forgotten. Graves unmourned.
Yet thou, hail Lamb, have found thy way back. Perhaps more remains to be found, on mountain's peak.

HARO ROTBURN ROOM D5 (after marchosias first encounter)
Odd; I visited Her often, aeons ago, here upon the mountain on which we now stand.
Of pure white snow this place once was, shelter in storm and rest before the rise.
Yet now this matter doth grow tumorous; that which seems as stone, yet feels as blood. Odd...

HARO LIGHTNING SHARD ROOM D5 (after marchosias first encounter)
Look at this lightning stuff
Slap it and grab some

Wolf/Puzzle/Intro
Simple beast. The object I have placed under guard is one of great danger.
Simple beast. You will not be able to use brute force to surpass my work.
Years of experimentation, of sacrifice, of pain, have lead me to sequester these cursed remains away.
The object guarded within is one of great danger. Yet you do not even know why, do you?
You will not be able to brute force your way past my work. Be wise for once and turn back.
Years of experimentation, of sacrifice, of pain, have lead me to sequester these cursed remains away. Be wise, for once, and turn back.

Haro first time in Rot
Snow may seem pure, yet beneath slumbers decay. The First Gods decreed decay to renewal, and on, and on.
Alas, corruption of natural law sees decay to decay to decay. That which once did grow now <color=#FFD201>rots</color> instead.
Red Crown, doth thy know what becomes of death without life to rise in its place?

I didn't think you'd be able to get that one! Truly, really, I didn't! My garden just needs one more.

Palworld Blacksmith#

An unused dialogue for Palword Blacksmith from apparently cancelled crossover.

First encounter with the Black Marketeer, a character from Palworlds who appear in any random dungeon. He will sell players special Eggs that contain Palworlds characters known as "Pals" in exchange for gold.
Turned up here... don't know how... but got some things you might like...
I trade creatures... whether they're stolen, or even prohibited types... take a look...
Good for ordering around... make good Followers... might even make good <color=#FFD201>pals</color>...
Got another for you... don't ask where it came from...
Take a look...
Still got another... it'll do whatever you tell it... tastes good too...
Got one left... sold all its <color=#FFD201>pals</color> already...
These too... don't ask where I got them... just take them...

Speaking: Black Marketeer (he/him)\nA bark for the Blacksmith to say once the player has purchased an egg from him.
Heheheh, looks like meat's on the menu today...

Speaking: Black Marketeer (he/him)\nA bark for the Black Marketeer to say once the player has purchased an egg from him. This is a hint to the player that if they breed two of the special Pal Followers that they have bought from the Black Marketeer in the "Mating Tent" a special new Pal Follower can be hatched.
Y'know sometimes two of these creatures can... erm... make another one... just saying...

Speaking: Black Marketeer (he/him)\nIf the player does not have enough gold (money) to buy from him.
Heh... you got no gold...

Unused Code#

PLAYER_ARROW_AMMO Seems to insinuate a scrapped bow and arrow mechanic. Its value is automatically set to 3.

PLAYER_ARROW_TOTAL_AMMO Very similar to the above value, as of now its exact purpose is unknown. Its value is automatically set to 3.

Lighthouse_Fireoutagain and Lighthousefuel These suggest that you would have to continually add wood to the lighthouse at Pilgrims Passage. In the final game the fuel value is permanently at fifteen.

Sin Sermon A unused version of the normal sermon which can be enabled within the save data by a line named SinSermonEnabled, its set to disabled by default Another line exists named PreviousSinSermonDayIndex, probably counts up since the last performed sin sermon, when enabled it replaces the normal sermon and uses up 3 sin per use, functions the same as a normal sermon although appears after doing the 1st sermon allowing you to do a second sermon with a cost of 3 sin
