Debug Menu#
In some developer screenshots and videos, build info was present on menus in the top right corner. These were never available to the public... Until a rather buggy update on September 27th, 2020 made it public!
In the main menu, the text has some basic details. These are:
- MID: The user's 9 digit User ID.
- build number: Unknown, likely the current patch version.
- branch: Unknown.
- preset version: The current version published to the App Store, Google Play Store, and Galaxy Store.
If the user touches the "MID" text, it will open a more detailed debug menu with more features! These are:
- macaron(cm): Opens this link in a web browser. The page does not load, likely due to the ID tied by the user being rejected by the host, as it is for developer accounts. "(cm)" likely stands for "Community Manager", which Devsisters employ several of.
- macaron: Opens this link. Similar to beforehand, it does not load.
- kibana: Opens [https://auth.devsisters.cloud/auth/realms/devsisters/protocol/saml?SAMLRequest=fVLLbtswEPwVgXeJlCwlNmE5cGMENZC2Rqz00EuxotYJUYpUuZTb%2FH0YP9oUBXzdHc7MznB%2B87s3yR49aWdrlmeCJWiV67R9qtljc5dO2c1iTtCbYpDLMTzbB%2Fw5IoUkPrQkj5uajd5KB6RJWuiRZFByu%2Fx0L4tMyMG74JQzLFkSoQ9R6tZZGnv0W%2FR7rfDx4b5mzyEMJDn%2FoVuwkHW4j3QhWsuUcWMny3LCYdCcUI1ehxe%2Bz%2FmbPEtW0Y%2B2EA43nGkgmv2P5DDlHsH0xP8u%2BdniiXC9qtl3vC6FqtSkxCl0eXUlKtUitjOsWhDqeldhiVeQVxFONOLaUgAbalaIQqRilhbTRgiZT2Q%2BzWYz8Y0lm5PKB22PAV9KrT2CSH5smk26%2BbJtWPL1XFQEsFMt8qDu3%2FdxmRjOJbDFMerUuCcYLOZz%2Fp7xT%2B2fI8V6tXFGq5dkaYz7dRsTDFizHRhCltw530O4rPo20V26O0Bl8GBJow2ML06q%2F36vxSs%3D#/discover?_g=()&_a=(columns:!(action,mid,message,environment),index:gb-devs,interval:auto,query:(language:kuery,query:'environment.keyword:cookierun-v10.devsgb.com'),sort:!('@timestamp',desc this link] to a login page to Devsisters SSO. It also allows login via emails ending with "@devsisters.com". As this is intended for employees only, this cannot be used by normal users.
- visible localKey: Unknown purpose.
- show MID: Disabling it makes the debug info invisible. It can still be opened by tapping the same area.
- show UI: Disabling it will make gameplay UI elements not visible. This is used for YouTube videos on the official Cookie Run YouTube channels.
- show Buttons: Disabling it will make the Jump and Slide buttons invisible. This is used in conjunction with show UI for the Cookie Run YouTube channel videos.
- visible tartKey: Unknown.
This debug menu was patched out and made inaccessible 30 minutes after the update was published with a 1008 KB patch with 3 assets. Videos demonstrating the debug menu can be seen here and here.
Unused Magic Candies#
Placeholder Legendary Cookies#
Both Pitaya Dragon Cookie and Ananas Dragon Cookie have skill images for their Magic Candies; however, they are placeholders that use Roguefort Cookie and Pomegranate Cookie's Magic Candy skill images instead respectively. No other data or images exist.
Unused Magic Ingredients#
Dummy Ingredient#
A C grade ingredient, appropriately named as a dummy. It uses the same exact image as the Solid Crimson Sugar Crystal.
A Grade Bottle#
An unused A grade ingredient of what appears to be a bottle of ink. It is unknown what this could have been used to create.
Placeholder S Grade Ingredients#
Three placeholders for S grade ingredients. All of them are darkened Crimson Sugar Crystals with a red aura around them with white text reading "S06", "S07", and "S08".
Unused Maps#
|
|
To do: |
aaaa0001#
A blank map that takes place in the first area of Land 2 (Jelly Bug Forest), that immediately locks up after a short amount of time, with the map staying stagnant. The Cookie can still jump and slide, but nothing will happen on-screen.
training0067_bonus#
A BONUSTIME area for Roll Cake Cookie's Trial. BONUSTIME was once accessible in this trial, but it was later removed from the Trial due to a bug with Roll Cake Cookie's Pet, Light Bros, not functioning as intended once BONUSTIME was entered. The map file still remains in the files however.
Costume Tickets#
An unused resource that appears to be related to costumes. It was added in the files on June 29th, 2019, the same day as the infamous Costume Gacha. The effect of the ticket is unknown, but it bears a striking resemblance to the Treasure Mileage Ticket, which are usually given in packages (In-App Purchases).
The exact use of the Costume Ticket is unknown, but there are some theories surrounding it, such as:
- The ability to do a free Costume Gacha pull
- The ability to obtain a costume that costs Rainbow Stars for free
- The ability to purchase a costume from the Costume Shop for free
The Costume Tickets have only appeared in package-related sprite sheets, indicating it would have only been distributed through them, similar to the aforementioned Treasure Mileage Ticket.
Unused Jellies#
Brain Gum Jelly#
A jelly for Brain Gum was present in versions of the game from launch until 2019. It is possible that Brain Gum's skill would have made jellies, but in the final game, the skill is similar to how it functioned in LINE/Kakao Cookie Run.
Dino Foot Jelly#
The Dino Foot Jelly that Dino-Sour Cookie creates during his skill in LINE/Kakao Cookie Run. This was in the files of Cookie Run: OvenBreak for a very long time, and when Dino-Sour Cookie returned, it wasn't used as his skill was reworked.
Sea Bubble Jellies#
The Sea Bubble Jellies that Peppermint Cookie created during the Cookie's skill were absent in Peppermint Cookie's transition to OvenBreak, but that didn't seem to be the case initially. The Sea Bubble Jelly graphics and code are present, but are unused for unknown reasons.
Eventually, Peppermint Cookie gained the ability to create jellies similar to these on an update on July 8th, 2020, but they were called Peppermint Jellies and used different sprites, overwriting the original Sea Bubble Jelly sprites.
Unused Costume#
GingerBright's second costume#
A placeholder for a second costume for GingerBright was added to the game on March 26th, 2019. This costume did not have any set design, so it used a recolor of GingerBright's default design instead. It was likely that GingerBright was intended to receive a costume for the April Fools event surrounding her in that same update period, but was scrapped in favor of GingerBrave's 3D Bravery.

bgm_trial_tiramisu |
Tiramisu Cookie's Trial has an early version with less instruments and a louder bell. |
bgm_memoriesisland_cheerleader_encounter |
The song that plays when you first encounter boss0002/Red Cheerleader Cookie has roughly half of the song unheard due to the song cutting off around the 9 second mark. |
bgm_islandOfMemories_cheerleader_boss_test |
A simple melody intended as a test song for the Cheerleader Boss in Cheerleader Cookie's Island of Memories. |
bgm_memories_cheerleader_boss_01 |
A song that was intended to play during the boss battle with Red Cheerleader Cookie in Cheerleader Cookie's Island of Memories. Unlike the previous song, this song is more complete. It is an electro remix of the Land 1 theme. |
bgm_dj_sample_128 |
A repetitive drum that appears to be related to DJ Cookie before their release. The song has been removed after DJ Cookie was released. |
bgm_map_chapter05 |
This song appears to be an extended version of the Lobby for the Halloween Friendly Run event that occurred in October 2019, but this song appears to date back as far as 2017. It is theorized that this song was an early theme for Land 5. |
bgm_lobby_trophymode_common |
An early version of the Trophy Race lobby. |
bgm_bonus_eventmap |
A short looping song that might have been related to the Crystal Caves event in October 2017. |
bgm_map_chapter01 |
An early version of the remixed theme of Escape from the Oven from LINE/Kakao Cookie Run, notably lacking percussion. |
An early version of Apple Cookie's skill was accidentally published to the game files on April 21st, 2020 without being encrypted. This version of the song contains a 5 second intro that was removed on May 1st, 2020 for unknown reasons. |
|
The Tower of Frozen Waves' map select theme from LINE/Kakao Cookie Run. While this was somewhat repurposed for the Moonlit Tower of Frozen Waves lobby, that version of the song was slightly extended. |
|
A full version of Sorbet Shark Cookie's ability and Bonus Time theme. It was once used as a trial theme, which was published to the iOS version of the game as it was updated early for sake of getting the game's after the maintenance in time for iOS users, but was replaced with a different song for unknown reasons. It was later used for the Secret of the Lost City update as a part of Custom Run menu along with the Lobby theme reward in the event, albeit with slight changes of the song such as the tempo speed. |
Unused Sounds#
Audio |
Notes |
|---|---|
ChocoKing_RedCarpet |
A sound effect for King Choco Drop, a pet from Cookie Run for LINE/Kakao whom is absent in Cookie Run: OvenBreak. This is the only remnant of the pet in this game. |
Jack_Test3 |
A strange sound effect with a slide whistle sound followed by two quick menu button touch sound effects. |
Jack_Test4 |
A brief clicking sound. That's it. |
Error Handler#
A small graphic of a gray circle with a white X on it. This usually is seen when a graphic is attempted to be loaded, but the image is missing, so this is displayed instead.

Normally, this shouldn't be seen in-game by normal means. However, thanks to a few hiccups in the game's development and failure to publish some files, this has appeared a few times on legitimate occasions.

On April 1st, 2021, an April Fools event was held on Gingerbrave's Trial showing an "unfinished" trial by the devs. Getting 4 Potions in the trial rewards the player with a title called "Failed to Load Cache...", and the icon that they use for this title is that familiar error sprite.
Hidden Developer Message#
An update on October 25th, 2018 added a tentative version of cookie0067_effect.png for Roll Cake Cookie's ability with message to dataminers saying "Please stop" in Korean. This was because many fans were datamining the game to leak new/returning Cookies among other features. The graphic is now Roll Cake Cookie's proper ability spritesheet and no longer exists in the internal files anymore.

The International, Japanese, Chinese and Thai version in the Spin the Roulette! Event uses a roulette wheel. However, the Korean version replaces the wheel with yut-sticks from the board game played during Korean New Years, "Yut".
Oddities#
General#
- The filenames for the sound effects for Chestnut Cookie's Bumper Car Bash minigame in the Dreamy CookieLand event refer to Walnut Cookie rather than Chestnut Cookie. This indicates that Walnut Cookie was likely intended to take Chestnut Cookie's place in the Dreamy CookieLand event. The game acknowledges this by mentioning Walnut Cookie's absence on the electronic banner in the lobby of CookieLand.
- The cutscene sprites for Sea Fairy Cookie for the Cookie of the Year event are marked as tutorial sprites, despite not being used as named and are used as normal cutscene sprites.
The list of Costumes that were able to be obtained during week 3 of the Halloween event in 2017 uses the concept art version of Space Doughnut's Healthy Bagel costume.
Misspellings#
Some files have misspelled names.
- The crab seen in the Sand of Yogurca cutscenes is named internally as "a_hermit_carb". "carb" should read "crab" instead.
- The sound effect "Mimmiy_Get_Private_Jelly.wav" misspells Mimmy as "Mimmiy".
- In a similar vein to the Mimmy sound, "PomergranatePet_Make_Jelly.wav" misspells Pomegranate as "Pomergranate".
- The folder "CybergEventBG" misspells Cyborg as "Cyberg".
- One of Butter Pretzel Cookie's cutscene sprites from the Butter Painting Affair cutscenes is misspelled as "cookie0180_porud.png" instead of "cookie180_proud.png".
- Walnut Cookie's "Worry" sprite from the Secret of the Slashed Painting (Found in the same Butter Painting Affair cutscene folder) misspells it as "cookie0141_woory.png".
- Tiramisu Cookie's Smile sprite is named "cookie0191_simle". This should be read as "cookie0191_smile" instead.
Internal Names#
Many Cookies and some Pets in the game have internal names by their sounds, images, and other internal files that differ from their actual in-game names. They are as follows:
- Adventurer Cookie: Explorer
- Bellflower Cookie: Deodeok Flower (Korean translation for the Bellflower.)
