Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Aliens Ate My Baby Sitter! is the final DOS Commander Keen game, perhaps best known for not being available for purchase digitally and conspicuously absent from the Steam Commander Keen Complete Pack. FormGen Corporation had convinced id Software to have them release Keen 6 as a standalone retail title rather than a shareware episode, and apparently nobody wanted to deal with whatever legal rights baggage had accumulated since.

While a third trilogy of Keen games was planned under the title "The Universe is Toast" and a VGA-powered engine was in the works, said plans were permanently put on hold as id Software believed that games in the line of their earlier-published Catacomb 3-D were going to be the future of the gaming landscape. A belief that would be proven to be very, very, very correct.

Debug Mode#

As with The Armageddon Machine, Keen 6 features the same debugging hotkeys as Secret of the Oracle. Primary difference being that the "Free Items!" key combo gives you the three overworld progression items (grappling hook, giant sandwich, and spaceship passcard) instead of Keen 4's wetsuit.

Unused Text#

 Keen is in the High
Score screen. Call Id!

Also like the previous game, using the F10 + W debug keys to warp to level 18 (the high score screen) shows this otherwise-unseen level intro text, this time with far less typos. Likewise the level's name on the pause screen, "High Scores", also goes unused in normal gameplay.
