Information for levels in "Current Prototypes" and nx_norad.

NX Levels#

While there are several playable campaign missions, part of the "NX Levels" category in the menu, these end fairly quickly and with a fade-out to black. Accessing the debug menu's checkpoint select reveals that there is extra segments past said fade-outs which you cannot access through normal gameplay, though it's worth noting that these segments appear to be in a much rougher state.

These missions also seem to be rather unconnected to each other in some way, with all of their loading screens being a splash screen for Neversoft.

Border (nx_border)#

The first mission in this category. This mission takes place in a small town near the US-Mexico border, where the player (Pvt. Jackson) alongside Baker has to defeat a Mexican drug cartel, whose members appear to be speaking with a Castillan accent.

Border starts with the player character's vehicle being hit by an RPG mere seconds after loading in the level. The level proceeds into a gunfight with members of the Mexican cartel and ends with a fade-to-black right as the player's squad are about to assault the church.

Visiting Hours (nx_hospital)#

The second mission in this category. Visiting Hours is set in an abandoned hospital in Mogilevo, Belarus. This mission is the one "stealth-then-go-loud" mission that Call of Duty games sometimes have.

The objective involves the player (Pvt. John Walker), Baker and Keene going after an HVI named Koslov, who was being treated by Dr. Vasilyev. The mission ends with Baker finishing off the HVI after finding out that he was a militia leader by Overlord, and after that, a fade-to-black.

Into the Fire (nx_exfil)#

The third mission in this category. This mission is set in Indonesia's capital city, Jakarta, with the now-ziptied John Walker starting in a crashed helicopter. Baker (using an SAS uniform in this mission, for some reason) then rescues the player from the chopper.

Into the Fire's objective is running to the extraction point, while fighting the local police forces. The police in this mission are later equipped with riot shields. This mission ends with a fade-to-black right before the breaching sequence starts.

Winter Anvil (nx_rocket)#

The fourth mission in this category. Does not load properly without motehpro‬'s recent fixes.

Descent (nx_lava)#

No, not that Descent.

The fifth mission in this category, and the first playable mission set in outer space, more specifically, the Moon. This mission has the player board a "lunar train" and meeting up with Keene next station, while fighting enemies situated on another lunar train, both sides using space weapons. Near the end of the mission, Baker and his team knocks out Walker and Keene, believing them to be traitors, in an unfinished cutscene. While the rest of the mission can't be played due to crashes, leftover voicelines found in the file indicate Keene was not a traitor.

Hit Hard at Home (nx_hithard, nx_hithard_b)#

Hit Hard at Home is split into several missions (nx_hithard and nx_hithard_b). Both parts of the mission can be manually loaded in through debug, showing a new protagonist named John "Specter" Lockwood fighting alongside Baker to get to the Vice President, and escort him to safety.

The first part starts with the player on a VTOL, parachuting off of it seconds after the mission starts.

The mission ends with Bravo's vehicles coming in, however, the tank appears to have a fully modeled interior. An extra checkpoint accessible past this point displays tank controls, indicating a segment where you were to use the tank before the mission would end.

Moonbase Assault (nx_lunar)#

Moonbase Assault starts within the build with Mon Malapert station being raided by the Eastern Coalition, with Walker, Crow and Riggs scrambling to regroup and attempt to repel the assault. After several close-quarters engagements within the ruins of the station, the squad heads outside for an extended battle directly on the lunar surface. Normal gameplay ends with a scripted sequence involving Rigg's death while Crow and Walker attempt to fend off an Eastern Coalition UGV. There is extra playable segments accessed through debug checkpoints, but these are in a far more rough state (Part 2) and focus on Walker manning a UGV turret to kill Eastern Coalition soldiers massing in front of the station before heading back in to rendezvous with the station's commander. There is also dialog and checkpoints for an extended intro segment for the mission, featuring a rover chase (in which you had displayed controls for driving a rover) although none of this was implemented by the time of the builds.

Moonbase Assault introduces several new gameplay elements, including manual healing (through suit patches) and Zero-G combat.

Operation Deadbolt (nx_ss_rappel, nx_skyscraper)#

The last mission on this category, and the second to be split into two mission files. While nx_ss_rappel is missing from the files, nx_skyscraper still exists, and is functional.

This mission involves Spectre and Baker sneaking into the Jakartan Trade Center to retrieve an unknown MacGuffin plot device (represented by a chicken in nx_skyscraper). Several basic gameplay elements are taught to the player during this mission, indicating that this level was likely to take place fairly early within Future Warfare's storyline.

nx_skyscraper's gameplay is incredibly unfinished, and contains the whole mission, which may indicate that nx_ss_rappel was created after the mission was potentially split into multiple parts.

Current Prototypes#

These maps are not accessible as their relevant files are missing.

Space Station (nx_test_station)#

Repel the Coalition (nx_repel)#

Judging by leftover voicelines, this mission involved you defending Moscow alongside Russian forces from the Eastern Coalition.

Characters (nx_character_test)#

A simple test map that showcases the new character models.

Vehicles (nx_vehicle_test)#

Other Levels#

Miscelleanous levels that aren't found in the above categories.

Suspension (nx_harbor)#

An unfinished "greybox" campaign mission, set in (presumably) a future San Francisco, more specifically, the Bay Area. The player (John Lockwood) has to fight off various air and ground vehicles while aboard a monorail tram in this mission. The ground vehicles use Humvee models as placeholders. The monorail you are in also houses two allied NPCs using Soap and Ghost's Modern Warfare 2 models as placeholders respectively. All the NPCs do in this level is sit behind cover.

The tram derails by the end of the mission, with the player diving into the nearby water.
