Avenging Spirit (Arcade)

To do:

  • Other else...?
  • See if there are any changes in the modern digital rerelease by Ratalaika Games.

Here's the Avenging Spirit story in brief:

  1. A boy and his girlfriend went for a walk.
  2. Suddenly, two shameless kidnappers showed up and kidnapped her girlfriend.
  3. Before the boy could've done something, one of the kidnappers shot him. *pang*
  4. He frickin died!

THE END (no, just kidding...)

As a ghost, now the boy has to take possession of the body of Smokin' Chicks, Witches, Ninjas, Dragons, Robots, Vampires and many more in order to save your precious girlfriend from a mysterious crime syndicate. Go for it!

Not to mention that this is one of the best games made by C.P. Brain, along with 64th Street: A Detective Story.

Regional Differences#

To do:
There’s probably more.

Both versions run on the Jaleco Mega System 1, but the Japanese version uses the "Type A" (the same type used in most Jaleco games like P-47: The Phantom Fighter, The Astyanax and Hachoo!), whereas the International version uses the slightly more powerful "Type B" (the same type used in E.D.F.: Earth Defense Force). Despite this, it seems that both versions run identically.

Both versions features a similar logo, except that Avenging Spirit uses brighter colors than Phantasm ones.
