Revisional Differences (World, set 1 and World, set 2 in MAME)

Bless you!

This game is remembered more for its badass soundtrack and less for its clumsy gameplay.

Regional Differences#

The Japanese set shows the following text during the intro. The World set doesn't, despite it still being loaded into the VRAM during the intro in the attract mode.

'...But does it make sense?'

Translation

4000 years ago, Ghost King, who oppressively ruled Dai-yo-koku(lit. country of the great ghost) with magic powers, got defeated by a western sorcerer Sai-un-Ryu-si(lit. Dragon ruler Sai-un).

Ryu-si sealed Ghost King into a statue, and enclose in a Hu-yo-in(lit. Ghost sealing shrine) at Yo-ten(lit. Ghost top/heaven) mountain.

Monk Dai-un, a lineal descendant of Ryu-si, observed this by his inspirational sense, and gathered his disciples at his school.

"Finally the seal was broken. Ghost King will revive and rule the world again soon...

Is there anyone who can go Yo-ten Mountain right now and seal the statue before the dawn..."

Ten-un and Ryu-un volunteered.
