Arkanoid DS

Arkanoid DS is a modernized and stylized take on the classic Arkanoid formula. It launched with a custom paddle controller that could be plugged into the GBA slot... but only in Japan.

Regional Differences#

Clear/Quest Game#

Japan	International

Stage M-1 is designed like a beer mug. The colored blocks inside the mug were changed from yellow and orange (beer) in the Japanese version to green (...melon soda?) in the international versions. Incidentally, this also reduces the total number of points that can be earned from this stage.

Uranoid#

In the Japanese version, each character in the 7 endings will leave a cryptic message which, when combined, will reveal a code that can be entered to unlock Uranoid mode. At the title screen, press R, Left, Right, L, Right, R to unlock it. The code can be used at any time, regardless of whether you've reached any of the endings.

In the international versions, the code was removed entirely in favor of simply unlocking the mode automatically after reaching all 7 endings.
