Cut Chinatown Opening#

This was for the opening cutscene of the Chinatown mission which was scrapped according to the script drafts in the source files.

Characters#

50 Cent, G-Unit, the story characters and some npcs have quite a lot of intriguing audio which they never say in-game.

50 Cent#

Since 50 is the main character, we'll start with him. His audio stands out quite a bit. Watch on YouTube

  • 50 has greeting dialogue when talking to Booker.
  • 50 mentions his crib getting stolen and having to buy his stuff from Bugs which will get delivered to the crib which is a scrapped crib customization system referenced in the script drafts and in the source files.
  • 50 has a story completion voiceover tied to the HUB World even though the game ends after defeating Spinosa and it goes to credits afterwards.
  • 50 mentions a guy named "Roland Swann" which was supposed to be triggered when interrogating an enemy in the Safehouse mission.
  • 50 has a intro voiceover explaining who Roland Swann is for the Safehouse mission. This is referenced in the script drafts.
  • 50 has a voiceover talking about fighting against Spider for the Junkyard mission.
  • 50 has stealth dialogue. These may have been intended for the side Chinatown objective at the start of the mission. However, this mission was completely different thanks to the script drafts and were probably tied to the Safehouse mission.

Booker#

Let's move onto Booker. Watch on YouTube

  • He mentions Grizz's van and Grizz being an army man. 50 meets Grizz in the HUB World and tells us through voiceover that Grizz was a Gulf War vet and liked playing with guns. It was left unused due to redundancy.

Bugs#

Let's move onto Bugs. Like 50, his audio also stands out. Watch on YouTube

  • He has reactions in terms of how you play.
  • He mentions that your mobile volume is loud and you could get detected by enemies. This is a scrapped mechanic and it's unknown which mission this was originally tied to.
  • He has LOTS of "performance" based dialogue. This is a scrapped mission system referenced in the source files called "Internal Mission Rating" in which you would be graded based on how well you played the mission.
  • He mentions sending stuff to your crib. This references the scrapped crib customization system we've heard previously from 50.

HUB World#

Let's move onto the HUB World. These are very noteworthy as these are scrapped opening and ending cutscenes linked to the Subway System thanks to the script drafts! Watch on YouTube

  • The first voiceover is the end cutscene of 50 going to Grizz before getting the subway to the Safehouse mission.
  • The second voiceover is the opening cutscene for the Vessel mission.
  • The third voiceover is the post-opening cutscene of 50 being in the HUB World before taking the subway to the Vessel mission.
  • The fourth voiceover is Bug's introduction when 50 is approaching his pawn shop. The first half of the voiceover is never said by him.
  • The fifth voiceover is Grizz giving 50 his first weapon. This is actually part of the end cutscene from the first voiceover.
  • The sixth voiceover is the end cutscene of 50 getting off the Subway back into the HUB world before going to the Projects mission after speaking to McVicar in his crib.
  • The seventh voiceover is the first half of the opening cutscene for the Chinatown mission.
  • The eighth voiceover is the ending cutscene for the Subway mission. This was supposed to foreshadow Gabriel Spinosa as 50's shooter.
  • The ninth voiceover is the ending cutscene for the Projects mission.
  • The tenth voiceover is the opening cutscene for the Morgue mission.
  • The eleventh voiceover is the opening cutscene for the Meat Packing Plant mission.

Kronik#

Let's move onto "Kronik". This is groundbreaking as thanks to the script drafts and the source files, this was Popcorn's earlier name. He even had a completely different look during the very early stages of development. Watch on YouTube

  • He has greeting dialogue when 50 talks to him.
  • He mentions an accuracy system. This line is recycled for Popcorn.

Tony Yayo#

Let's move onto Tony Yayo. He has various friendly people taken hostage audio. Watch on YouTube

Bootlegger#

Let's move onto the Bootlegger. Interestingly, in the files and the game's manual, he's named Whoo Kid. Watch on YouTube

  • He mentions remixes of 50's music. What's astonishing is that this was mentioned quite a lot in gaming magazines as a feature/item for 50 which he could mess around with in his crib and its also mentioned in the source files.

Young Buck#

Let's move onto Young Buck. Like his fellow G-Unit member Tony Yayo, he has friendly people taken hostage audio. Watch on YouTube

Grizz#

Let's move onto Grizz. He has some extremely interesting audio. Watch on YouTube

  • He mentions blast damage and grenades. What's mindblowing is that grenades and blast damage are referenced A LOT in the source files.
  • He has miscellaneous attack audio.
  • He has post game completion audio.

Popcorn#

Let's move onto Popcorn. He has some very intriguing audio. Watch on YouTube

  • He has some advice he shares with you through paging you.
  • He has post mission reaction audio. These were possibly going to be triggered when you complete a mission and then go to visit him in the theatre.
  • He has training based audio. Thanks to the script drafts, his theatre was supposed to be an actual training level but was scrapped.
  • He has miscellaneous audio.

Moet and Chandon#

Let's move onto Moet and Chandon. They have some rather intriguing audio, relating to a scrapped gameplay mechanic called "Pimp Management System" in which 50 could give drugs to Moet and Chandon, they would sell them in the HUB World and they would give 50 some money for the amount of kilos they sell per shift. This is referenced in an interview with the lead designer in an old Replay Game Informer video on YouTube and also in the source files! Watch on YouTube

Unused Text#

By examining the British/English.STR Files with a hex editor, there is TONS of options, music, objective, interaction, tutorial, item, cheat and music video text that is never seen anywhere in the main game and gives off more of the feeling of the game being rushed.

We'll start first with the options.

"NPC HEALTH INDICATOR"-According to the source files, this was supposed to be in the Options Menu and you could toggle it on/off the enemies health UI for when 50 shoots at them.

"COMMENTARY"-According to the source files, when you originally completed the game, you would unlock Making Of Commentary in the Options Menu. When you play a new game and progress through the missions, specific developer audio will play at different points and it will go into how the mission was created during development.

We'll now go onto the music.

The soundtrack was originally going to be much bigger than what we got. 50 has the most cut songs out of all the G-Unit crew. "PATIENTLY WAITING", "MANY MEN", "HIGH ALL THE TIME", "21 QUESTIONS", "MASSACRE", "IN MY HOOD", "I'M SUPPOSED TO DIE TONIGHT", "GATMAN AND ROBIN", "OUTTA CONTROL", "MY TOY SOLDIER", "I DON'T NEED EM", "HATE IT OR LOVE IT".

There is only one cut G-Unit song: "WANNA GET TO KNOW YOU".

Lloyd Banks has three cut songs: "ON FIRE", "WARRIOR" and "KARMA".

Young Buck has two cut songs: "I'M A SOLDIER" and "WELCOME TO THE SOUTH".

They all have their own instrumental versions as well. "PATIENTLY WAITING (INST)", "MANY MEN (INST)", "HIGH ALL THE TIME (INST)", "21 QUESTIONS (INST)", "MASSACRE (INST)", "IN MY HOOD (INST)", "I'M SUPPOSED TO DIE TONIGHT (INST)", "GATMAN AND ROBIN (INST)", "OUTTA CONTROL (INST)", "MY TOY SOLDIER (INST)", "I DON'T NEED EM (INST)", "HATE IT OR LOVE IT (INST)".

"ON FIRE (INST)", "WARRIOR (INST)" and "KARMA (INST)".

"I'M A SOLDIER (INST)" and "WELCOME TO THE SOUTH (INST)".

We'll now go onto the objectives. Two missions objective breakdowns stand out the most.

"Find the ladder to exit through skylight."-This is tied to the Docklands Warehouse mission. According to the source files, ladders were supposed to play a big role in traversing the missions and lots of fundamental based documents regarding them exists but were removed.

"Save Hostage 1, 2, 3,"-This is tied to the Subway mission. This is probably for the opening section of the mission.

We'll now go onto interaction.

What's intriguing here is that this text is tied to the remixes audio from DJ Whoo Kid and the magazine references seen previously. "CHOOSE FREESTYLE".

We'll now go onto tutorial.

What's interesting here is that this is tied to some of Popcorn's training audio seen previously. "PRACTICE AT THE RANGE" and "FIRING RANGE STATS".

We'll now go onto items.

These are pretty mindblowing to see mentioned!

"MIX LAB"-This was a scrapped object 50 could interact with in his crib and again goes back to DJ Whoo Kid and the gaming magazines.

"KILO"-This was tied to the "Pimp Management System" referenced previously.

"DIMEBAG"-This was also tied to the "Pimp Management System" referenced previously.

We'll now onto cheats. There are five listed: "INVISIBLE ENEMIES", "GHOST MODE", "LITTLE PEOPLE", "MIKE MODE", and "DUAL WIELD ANYTHING".

Lastly, there is the music videos. One stands out: "G-PHORIA AWARDS SO SEDUCTIVE".
