To do: Still need to record whatever there is of the build (and the provided tech demos) in action. (The recovery disc just installs an image of a mostly vanilla Windows 2000 install with some tech demos and related stuff on it.) Figure and maybe document what all needs to be modified installation-wise for the disk images to properly work in virtualization software (or see if 86Box could be configured to run it?)

XDK build 0526 is currently the first known build, designed to be installed on Alpha I hardware. It shares many similarities to builds prior to the February 2001 build.

One notable difference compared to later builds is that it installs a copy of Windows 2000 Professional rather than a dashboard of any kind. For the recovery image to be installed, the disk being written to must already be formatted as FAT32 or else it will error out upon trying to write to the disk. Additional modifications may be required to boot into Windows if using virtualization software such as VirtualBox or VMware.

All the tech demos are compiled as x86 applications, meaning they can run on just about any computer running Windows (or via a compatibility layer such as Wine.)
