This is a sub-page of Proto:Ufouria: The Saga.

This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace.

On March 23 2021, armadylo released a PRG-ROM dump for an early build of Ufouria with "Forple" on the title screen. Unfortunately, corresponding CHR-ROM data is not known to exist, but the CHR-ROM banks from a later prototype seem to fit this build, albeit with glaring graphical issues. Screenshots in this article should be treated as mockups.

How To Get a (Somewhat) Working Build#

1. Insert Hebereke's header at the top of the PRG-ROM dump.
2. Add 0x20000 bytes to the end of the file.
3. Copy over the later prototype's CHR-ROM data into the newly allocated space.

Debug Features#

• To access the "Flag Condition" screen, hold Up and press Select. This screen allows toggling RAM offsets $4E0 through $4FF. Some cheats include but aren't limited to:
  • Turn on bit 40 for a free movement debug mode.
  • Turn on bit 47 to enable reverse gravity. This likely would've been used in the pyramid area given the level design.
  • Turn off bits 28 through 2F to set your health to zero, which grants invincibility.
• Press Select + Start to return to the title screen.
• To warp to different areas, press A + Start. To make your character reappear, press Start.

General Differences#

• A lot of differences for the overworld in terms of layout and enemy placement. A lot of areas are evidently a work in progress and lack enemies. However, the overall structure of the world is very similar to the final version, spare for a scrapped pyramid area.
• The AI for Freon Leon hasn't been implemented. Additionally, the room to battle him in has a raised area.
• Bop-Louie can walk on ice. In the final version, he's prone to slipping and falling on ice.
• The item screen is slightly different.
