Title Screen#

Proto

Final

If the game having nothing to do with the movie didn't already give it away, the game was originally simply known as Tom & Jerry, featuring a totally different title screen. Tom and Jerry are drawn in a noticeably different artstyle here, which more closely matches their appearance in the game's other cutscenes. The prototype title screen is also much more animated compared to the completely static final one: The stars flicker constantly, the text colors change, and Tom and Jerry blink occasionally. After pressing Start, they glare menacingly towards each other.

The WMG copyright is missing as the game isn't yet an "adaptation" of the movie, and the Turner copyright is written in the cutscene font as opposed to the one used on the rest of the title screen; said font's P and R was also redrawn slightly in the final game. The Sega copyright was also moved a tile to the left for some reason.

Cheat Screen#

The cheat screen found in the final has been implemented, and can be activated in the same way - press Down, Down + Right, Right, 1, Down, Down + Left, Left, 2 on Controller 2.

Level Names#

Some minor changes to the level names were made in the final game.

Unused Text#

Present at 0x0C5F0 is an early, more detailed copyright string. It seems to be unused in this build, and is completely absent from the final.
