Dialogue Differences

Graphical Differences#

Prototype

Final

  • Butterflies are colored white instead of blue with white spots, and they are slightly different.

Prototype

Final

  • The 1-Up graphics are different. In this build and in the final version, it regenerates you health, and could be the only thing that is part of a scrapped lives system. The graphics are also taken from an earlier build. (?)

Prototype

Final

  • The dynamite box has completely different graphics, being animated, having 8 frames in the proto.

Prototype

Final

  • Foghorn uses Henery Hawk's portrait, suggesting that Foghorn Leghorn was originally Henery. In this build, and in the final game, Henery appears in the gallery.

Other Screens#

  • The Nintendo logo is missing.
  • Some of the copyright screens still say 2000 at this point.

Prototype

Final

  • The language select screen is unfinished. You can only pick the game's default language, as some of the translation on the other 4 languages is not implemented, but some of the translated text can be seen in a Hex Editor or by hacking. Note that not all dialogue is the same as the French dialogue seen in the prototype, as some dialogue chunks in English appear to be from an earlier build.
  • There are no shading on the flags.
  • The background is colored blue.

Prototype

Final

  • License is spelled "Licence"
  • It also includes the Looney Tunes logo.
  • The font is simpler.
  • The text is arranged differently.

Prototype

Final

  • Lighter palette.
  • Missing trademark on the Looney Tunes logo.

Prototype

Final

  • Lighter palette.
  • Glitched graphics.
  • The Gallery screen is barebones.

Title Screen#

Prototype

Final

The title screen is completely different:

  • The game was called "The Looney Tunes Collector game", with the subtitle of "Martian Alert !".
  • 2 Players was called "FUN".
  • The text, "Adventure", has a unique font and coloring at the start of the word.

File Select#

Prototype

Final

  • The background is orange.
  • You can start the game without inputting the file's name.
  • File is named "Game"
  • The files aren't numbered

Prototype

Final

  • The name input screen is different.

Level Differences#

The ForestWabbit ! wabbit ! Come over here little wabbit ! He he he he he ! Wascally wabbit ! I'll get you ! The Town The Magical Woods The Desert
  • The boat stages are finalized, but there's a bug that you can change characters in the boat stage. In the final version, selecting a character in the boat stage would annoy the character.

Introduction#

  • The intro cutscene is a bit unfinished, having the blue colored luggage barely opening.
  • There's a bug that lets the player clip onto the shelf in the introduction level. This made the player stuck on this level or to skip a section of it.
  • There are no worms popping out of the ground, bats flying, resulting in the level being a bit barren.

Prototype

Final

  • A carrot is placed differently.

Prototype

Final

  • A carrot is added in this section in the final to make it easier.

Other Differences#

  • Lola Bunny appears to be unfinished, being a late addition to this build. Pressing A throws infinite amounts of basketballs, likely due to the unfinished nature of the character.
    • To play as her, use the following GameShark code to freeze the character value to 0D: 000D7EC9.
    • To select it, use GameShark code 000106C9 to unlock, and then use GameShark codes 00FF0CC9 and 00FF0DC9
  • The Map can be accessible in the pause menu, but was changed to an object in your inventory.

Earlier build Leftovers#

To do:

  • There's more.

Leftover Text#

The English translation of this build is left untouched, so there are leftovers from an older build which had only two languages to pick.

An earlier character list. Wile. E. Coyote was planned to be playable, but was replaced with Road Runner in this build. Papa Bear's name is misspelled.

LANGUAGE
FRENCH
ENGLISH

A earlier version of the language select screen, where it was based on two options. The prototype has its language set to French by default.

Leftover Graphics#

To do:

  • Check if this early Game Over screen exists in the ROM, with the correct palette.

Leftovers from an earlier version of the Game Over screen, seemingly from a earlier build. This build instead uses the final versions' game over screen.

Loaded in the title screen are graphics for an early version of the splash screens. This build instead uses the final versions' splash screens.

Sprite Viewer#

In the file select menu, selecting option $03, in 0xCFE5 would bring you to this sprite viewer. Unknown what it does.
