Klonoa-Title-Screen-Demo.png

On late August 2025, a post-release Japanese Kiosk Demo for 風のクロノア -door to phantomile- was recovered from slack data from a WIS-009 kiosk unit hard drive dump1. The hard drive was dumped by Zel (aka Luckless Heaven), while Rairii extracted the demo build from it.
In said hard drive dump, the build's ISO starts at 0xC6E80FE00. The partitions were fully intact, so Rairii uploaded it this way.
Its title ID is D96JAF (for reference, the title ID for the retail Japanese version is R96JAF). As with other kiosk demos, the game image is devsigned, so it needs to be recrypted in order to work on retail hardware.

Title Screens#

Demo

Retail

  • The title screen has a new icon with the word 体験版 (taikenban, meaning "Demo" or "Trial").
  • The "PRESS + BUTTON" text was changed to "PRESS - BUTTON" in the demo.
  • In this demo version, you don't have the animation with the prologue.
  • The main difference is that the demo version has "Controls" while the full version has "Continue" and "Options" instead, since demos don't typically need save functionality or extensive settings.

The continuation is at your place!

The demo runs on a timer. After 10 minutes (or 2 minutes if nothing is pressed on the controller), the game shows this screen, and after 7 seconds, goes back to the Kiosk Menu / Home Menu.
