This is a sub-page of Proto:Guitar Hero II (PlayStation 2)/Late 2006 Retail Demo.
Most of the guitars in the retail version of Guitar Hero II are available in the demo through the Unlock All cheat, though with some major caveats. Some use description text from the original Guitar Hero, some of the original's guitar finishes are used in place of newer ones, and some use the models of other guitars as placeholders. All are usable on-stage.
One thing to note about the guitar select screen is that finishes are listed as their own guitars, not separately. Further, like the guitarist select screen, all of the models are lit much brighter than in the final game.

Gibson ES-335#
Birdseye Maple Finish#
Features a horribly broken skin that flickers black all along the body, and rotates around the width of the guitar rather than around the neck on the guitar select screen. The Custom Cherry Finish has neither of these problems. The Chet Atkins Country Gentleman shares the Birdseye Maple model in the demo, along with its bugs.

Skin appears to be applied improperly over the Cherry finish and flickers.

Gibson Sonex 180#
Uses the Ebony Les Paul model from Guitar Hero as a placeholder. Visually, the Sonex 180 (called the "Ebony Gibson Sonex 180" in-game) is very similar to the Ebony Les Paul (and is named lp_sonex in the files), so this makes sense.

Gibson Marauder#
Uses the Goldtop Les Paul model from Guitar Hero as a placeholder. Similar to the Sonex, the Marauder (seen as the "Natural Gibson Marauder" in-game) shares visual characteristics of the Goldtop Les Paul (and is named lp_marauder in the files), so it makes sense as a placeholder.

Miscellaneous#
All Coronets, Kramer Vanguards and 650s, and the Epiphone Casino and Sheraton use the Natural Sunburst Firebird model, while the Double Cutaway Les Pauls and the Gibson Melody Maker (appearing as the "Stickered Gibson Melody Maker") use the Zakk Wylde Bullseye Les Paul model.
All of the novelty skill reward guitars are listed in the text files, but aren't implemented yet in any form.
Only one bass is present in the demo, the MusicMan Stingray.
