Moods naming scheme v 4.0:
Mood files are now broken up into directories named after the map that they belong to. This is strictly for organizational purposes; all moods are still global. That means that they all need to have globally unique names. Therefore all mood names are now prefixed by the map that they belong to. That ought to help keep moods unique. =) After that, the rules defined in v 3.0 still apply. --DT
old naming scheme thoughts: v 3.0: I'm going to create moods that are specific to EACH AREA ON THE WORLD MAP Thus, each will have a unique name. Apparently we are going to have unique music for every section of the map, so this will make sure that each area will have a mood that is named with an obvious correlation. (1st mood in the crypts (cr_r1) will be named cr_r1_1). Further revisions (1.1, etc.) will be in the form of cr_r1_1_3 for crypts region 1 mood 1.3, for example This is useful for gradually changing fog between very different areas, but keeping the music the same.
A note: I'm putting the moods in chronological order. That is, the moods appear in this file in the order that the player will encounter them in the game. This is different than the multiplayer mood file, where the moods are ordered alphabetically.
v 2.0: I'm going to change to a more general form: what's changing (music/fog/whatever) will be first, so my fogs will eventually be named things like fog_black_20_30_1 for fog, color black, neardist = 20, fardist = 30, transition time = 1 second
v 1.0: I'm creating some new fogs with long names to make it obvious which one I'm using. My naming scheme is the color of the fog, the distance at which it starts, thick/thin, and how many seconds it takes to fade in. Clunky, I know. --DT |
