Yet another Antonball Deluxe control test that officially put the game in active development, this time going for the Game Boy Advance style that would be used throughout. Unlike the December 6th 2019 prototype, this one actually has more going for it, having just one more room and actually something that resembles Antonball.
Rooms#
rm_test1#
This is the room the game will boot into. It's the first level (and at this point only existing level) of the game in an unfinished state. The ball can't leave the level and you can't win or lose, so the game is still pretty barebones. Comparing the controls to the December 6th 2019 build, nothing really changed, except for Anton now having an actual crouch animation. The resolution in this build is a bit higher, playing at 1280x720 rather than the game's final 1024x576.
Breaking all the bricks does nothing and the game will eventually change the ball's speed, something that was removed late in the game's development.
rm_test#
This is the same room seen in the December 6th 2019 build. This time it's bigger and has Ballbusters and ladders that don't have any code. A simple camera will also follow you around.
(Unused) Sprites#
Anton#
Anton's sprite seen by default looks different from the final. By default, the prototype sprites are in a bigger grid, but have been cropped in this example for consistency.

Ballbuster#
The Ballbuster enemy is missing one frame, has a flat stem and looks to the left by default. This sprite was also in a bigger grid, but has once again been resized.

Ladder#
The still unused ladder object is colored blue in this build. The color was likely changed in the final game to black and white to not clash with the blue switch ladders. Even though these changes were made, all ladders go unused in the final game.

"Classic" Anton#
The sprites from the previous build are also here. They're all identical (except for the jumping sprite which accidentally removed one pixel from the foot), except their grid is 1 pixel wider to the right. There's also a duplicate of Anton's idle animation titled spr_anton1. Despite having "classic" in its filename, these sprites never appeared anywhere in the final game.
Music#
This build plays one music track, that being an earlier version of Ballbuster Blues that only uses a soundfont from Super Mario Advance for all of its instruments.

Build Differences#
Build 2 fixed a small ball collision error.
