Quake 4: Awakening Expansion#

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically:

  • Likely more information about the expansion out there.

Quake 4 was intended to have an expansion pack subtitled Awakening developed by Ritual Entertainment, but it was ultimately cancelled for unknown reasons.

Renders#

In 2015, character artist Vitaliy Naymushin would post untextured model renders on his ArtStation profile.

A render of an enemy, possibly a boss known as the "Valkaryne".

The Tank from Quake II was set to make a return in Awakening.

A render of a quadrupedal enemy known as the "Retch". It does somewhat resemble the Vore from the first Quake, so perhaps this is a reimagining of that enemy.
