Text file references#
In gear_en.exe at 2B8AE, there is the string 'script.txt', and at 286B3 there is the string 'screens.txt'. There are no such files; they are remnants of stuff from earlier builds, such as X.42. screens.txt, controlled game screens (those seen in the Help -> Screens 'View a Setup Screen' window), and script.txt controlled the graphics and sounds of game elements.
Language setting#
There is a Language field present the [gearhead] section of gearhead.ini. However, separate languages are in discrete executable files, with all game strings hardcoded into them. This setting seems to have no effect on the game, and there seems to be no reference to it in the executable file.
