Disney's core publishing brand was created and renamed from Disney Interactive in 2003 as part of a merger between the Disney Interactive and Buena Vista Interactive labels. Both labels were folded under the single BVG banner in 2005, and was renamed Disney Interactive Studios in 2007 after Disney announced the semi-retirement of the "Buena Vista" brand.
