Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi was the big step forward for the Wing Commander series, refining upon the previous game quite a bit.

Debug Mode#

In the original floppy disk version, enter Origin (case sensitive, with a capital O) as a command prompt argument. In the CD and GOG versions, change this in the .bat file. This will create a log file (creatively named LOGFILE) inside the gamedat folder. This log file details what has been loaded in and out of the game, the priority of the file and its memory location when it was loaded in. It also prints out the memory heap information to MEM.$$$. In addition, the following debug controls are at your disposal:

Alt + Z

Self-destruct

Alt + X

Quit the game and print out the memory usage stats

Alt + Del

Alt + Ins

Alt + O

Ctrl + Alt + S

Entering Origin -k (again, case sensitive) in the command prompt makes the player invincible by giving them unlimited shields, as well as make all of the above cheats available.

Like the original game, there are also some mission selection commands to put in at the command prompt:

n is a series numbered between 1 and 12,
while a is any mission lettered from A to D.

Mission-specific scenes also
require the above command(s).

l
