Windows Entertainment Pack 3

To do:

  • What about Entertainment Packs 1, 2, and 4?
  • Is this (and, for that matter, the other packs) Windows Entertainment Pack, or Microsoft Entertainment Pack? All official packaging and documentation seem to call it the latter.

Windows Entertainment Pack 3 is a game pack, consisting of Klotski, TetraVex, Fuji Golf, TriPeaks, WordZap, LifeGenesis, and SkiFree.

Revisional Differences#

The pack was re-released on CD in 1995.

  • The original floppy disk version simply puts the games into a program group, whereas in the 1995 CD re-release, the games are instead accessed via Microsoft Toy Store, which has aisles for Entertainment Packs 3 and 4, and also has sound effects and happy music to go with the setting. None of this is in the original floppy disk release.
  • In the CD version, players are presented with a description of the selected game before launching it.
  • The floppy disk version's default installation directory is C:\WEP, whereas the CD version's default installation directory is C:\TOYSTORE\WEP3.

The pack itself is identical to the floppy version, as are the files comprising it.
