Viva Piñata (Windows)

An animal raising sim with incredibly deep and complex game mechanics disguised as a silly little game about anthropomorphic piñatas.

This page will only cover content exclusive to the Windows version.

Debug Leftovers#

There are three files in the debug folder: db_index.txt, debug_hash.bin and debug_pack.bin. The first contains a list of model file names along with other information, the second contains a table of hash values (purpose unknown), and the third is an archive containing several items in Rare's CAFF compression format.

Totally Sweet Placeholder#

A placeholder video (aptly named placeholder.bik), stored in the movie\bink folder. The game doesn't use videos for first sightings, rendering them with the in-game engine instead.

Differences from the Xbox 360 version.#

• Games For Windows Live support was added.
• The Romance Dances are now pre-rendered .blk videos; that can be told with the Romanced Piñata's appearances altered by Variants or Accessories not carrying over to the scene.
