Track & Field for the NES combines the two previously released Hyper Olympic and Hyper Sports Famicom games into one package for a release outside of Japan. The NES game was also reprogrammed to use standard controllers instead of the HyperShot controllers.

Build Dates#
At the beginning of the PRG ROM is an ID string that lists the game version and date. In the European version, a different string is found at the end of the PRG ROM.

The string in the American release indicates that the game was built off Hyper Olympic and has an unusual timestamp predating the game by more than a year while neither matching Hyper Olympic nor Hyper Sports. It is very likely that a release was prepared in Japan at the time, but was cancelled.
Regional Differences#
As Konami didn't publish the original Track & Field in PAL regions, Kemco thought they'd release it even though Track & Field II had already been released several years earlier in time with the 1992 Barcelona Games, with In Barcelona added to the name.
Not to be confused with Konamic Sports in Barcelona, the Japanese name of the first Game Boy game.
Kemco Logo#
The PAL version adds a new screen including the Kemco logo, plus the obligatory Licensed by Nintendo text.

Differences made to the PAL title screen include a recolored logo with added In Barcelona text, the removal of the Konami logo, different copyright text, and a green background.
