Test Menu#

At the "TV Games: Plug it in & Play" screen, hold Up, press and hold A, release Up, and press Down. This will redirect the player to a test mode with a variety of functions.

Hardware Test Mode#

A hardware and input test for the computer. A build date is also displayed here, which differs depending on the region:

Save Data Test#

A RAM viewer.

Color Test Mode#

A color test for the TV.

Music Test#

A rather self-explanatory sound test menu.

Sleep Mode Test#

Puts the console into sleep mode.

Unused Sounds#

A few unused sounds can be listened to through the sound test menu. These can only be found in the American release.

Sound 138 is associated with unlocking Thomas, which is not possible, as he's already available by default.

Sound 139 is associated with unlocking a completely unused character named "Maisy". Given how this voice line mentions coal, it seems she was a steam engine like Thomas.
