Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor is a game about driving Thomas (& his friends) across the Island of Sodor.
Unused Scenarios/Scenario Assets#
James and the Express#
An unused scenario exists in the game's files called "James and the Express", named after a story from the 3rd book of The Railway Series, James the Red Engine which was later adapted into an episode of the same name in Series 1 from the titular TV series. It was likely scrapped due to being too similar to the scenario Emily and the Express. Only the narration track for this scenario has been found, although more may exist.

"We want our money back! We want our money back!" they shouted. |
Gordon's Dialogue |
"Remember the time when one had to be used to get you out of trouble, James?" teased Gordon. |
"You talk too much little James," said Gordon. "A fine, strong engine like me has something to talk about! I've pulled expresses for years, and have never once lost my way. I seem to know the right line by instinct!" |
"Wake up James," said Gordon the next morning. "It's nearly time for the express. What're you doing, odd jobs? Oh well, we all have to begin somewhere, don't we? Run along now and get my coaches ready. Don't be late!" |
"Look at me now," said Gordon grandly. "Goodbye little James, see you tomorrow!" |
"No, it was lost for me. I was switched off the mainline onto the loop. I had to go all round and back again!" |
"I like some quiet work for a change," he said. "I'm teaching these trucks manors. You did well with those coaches I hear?" |
James' Dialogue |
"Well atleast I don't get stuck on hills like some engines!" James retorted. |
"I wish I was an express engine," he said to himself. "I would love to pull express trains and go flying along the line," |
"Hello Gordon, is it tomorrow?" asked James. |
"Did you lose your way Gordon?" asked James. |
"Perhaps it was instinct!" said James cheekily. |
"Yes sir! I'll try!" answered James excitedly. |
"Come along, come along!" puffed James to the Coaches. |
"Oh yes please!" answered James. |
Sir Topham Hatt's Dialogue |
"I understand that you are all upset that your train has been delayed by all this confusion," said Sir Topham Hatt. "But if you could all please be just a little more patient, I promise I will arrange for a new train as soon as I can." |
"I need you to pull this train, James," he said. "Do you think you can?" |
"Do your best James!" called Sir Topham Hatt. |
"Well done James!" he said proudly. "You've done a splendid job indeed. Would you like to pull the express sometimes?" he asked. |
Narration |
One night, Gordon and James were alone at Tidmouth Sheds. |
Although Sir Topham Hatt was starting to think well of James, whenever the chance came, the engines would talk of nothing but bootlaces. |
But Gordon ignored him. |
Every wise engine knows of course that the signalman sets the points to make the engines run on the right lines, but Gordon was so proud that he had forgotten. |
And as soon as he was ready, James puffed away. |
As he was bringing the coaches to the platform, James looked longingly at them, thinking about how lovely they looked in their fresh coats of paint. |
James puffed away, and Gordon was ready to reverse onto his coaches, and start his journey. |
Sir Topham Hatt was on the train with other important people, and as soon as they heard the guard's whistle, Gordon puffed away. |
James watched the train disappear, and then, went back to work. |
He collected some other coaches for another train, and brought them to the platform. |
James had just come to a stop, when he suddenly heard a strange noise. |
It was Gordon! Trying to sneak into the station, without being noticed! |
But Gordon didn't answer. |
Meanwhile the passengers hurried to the booking office. |
Sir Topham Hatt was trying to get everything under control, but the crowd of passengers were so loud that they couldn't hear him! So he climbed on a baggage trolley and blew the guard's whistle, so loudly, that they all turned to look at him! |
Not wanting to wait for Gordon, Sir Topham Hutt hurried over to James, who was waiting nearby. |
And he puffed quickly away to get coupled to the train. |
And soon, James was ready. The guard blew his whistle, and James started. |
Bridges and stations flashed by! The passengers cheered, and they soon reached the station. |
Sir Topham Hatt approached James and told him how impressed he was. |
The next day when James came by, Gordon was pushing trucks. |
And he gave his trucks a bump. |
James and Gordon are now friends. James sometimes takes the express to give Gordon a rest. Gordon never talks about bootlaces, and they are both quite agreed on the subject of trucks. |

Jack Frost#
Although this scenario is used in the final game, it does have a few unused assets, mostly narration relating to a different, more accurate ending.

Percy's Dialogue |

"Hello J-j-j-James," muttered Percy icily. |
James' Dialogue |
"Scary Jack Frost!" cried James, and he raced away as fast as his wheels could carry him. |
"I saw scary Jack Frost last night," James huffed. "He even knows my name!" |
Narration |
Suddenly, as James was nearing the station, he saw something very spooky indeed. |
When Percy arrived back at the shed, James was bragging to the other engines. |
Unused Cutscene Code#
Also within the files for the unused narration exists code for the cutscene in which Jack Frost (Percy) and James interact, as well as later at the sheds.

Unused Models#

An unused model for Harold the Helicopter was found in the game files a few days after release. It's unknown what the model would've been used for, but he likely would have either flown around in the sky (like the Red Balloon) or be used in a Story Scenario.
Unused Character Expressions Menu#
A debugging window for controlling the engines' faces can be accessed by pressing Control + Shift + S. This also applies to the console versions by plugging in a keyboard to a USB port, and keying the combination. It lets you set the expressions of any currently spawned engines, as well as letting you freely move the position of their eyes relative to the camera position. A "speaking" toggle is also present, but appears to be broken.
