During the localization process of the game, numbers for certain enemies, pins and items were changed. Some of these changes stick out more than others, like the Darklit planet set being even stronger in the Japanese version.

Threads#
The only changes belong to Gatito and unbranded threads. Most notably, the Bravery requirement was grossly inflated in the international version (Maid Costume being the most demanding thread in the Japanese version, at 260 Bravery), while one of the threads has a completely different category.

Additionally, in the Japanese version Iron Maiden's One-piece costs 3 of [S] Hollow Leg instead of 6 Shadow Matter, while The Dead Slammurai, Mr. Claus and Maid Costume cost [S] Hollow Leg instead of Shadow Matter.
This effectively increases the Shadow Matter cost of these items to 9 and 3, respectively.
Food#
Certain food is less effective in the Japanese version (mostly Bravery-related, likely because the requirements weren't so ridiculous).

Swag#
The following Swag items have different costs in the Japanese version:
- [S] Hollow Leg costs Shadow Matter in the Japanese version instead of Scarletite. Additionally it is rebuyable as originally some quest items require it.
- [S] Tin Pin Versus requires a mastered Tin Pin Custom instead of one of 100, 500 and 1000 Yen each.
- Most of the books that can be bought have different costs:
- Tin Pin Whammy costs the same.
- In the international version, Black Cat Atlas books that can be bought require one of a specific Yen pin, requiring one of 1 through 10,000 in total. Originally, Vol. 1 through 5 costed ten of 5 Yen, 6 and 7 ten of 10 Yen, and 8 and 9 ten of 50 Yen.
- Other buyable books cost 3 of the Yen pin they require instead of just 1.
