Regional Differences#

To do: There's a lot of differences between versions that needs to be documented.

A year after the game was released in the US, a manga series by the name of Youkai Buster Ruka was created in Japan, and the creators of it got Sting to reprogram the game into a Youkai Buster game.

Title Screen#

The title screen was changed accordingly.

Anti-Piracy#

When the in-game timer reaches 285 seconds, the string copy wo shiteha ikemasen! ("copying is not allowed!") is written to where SRAM would normally be if the cartridge had any. If the game detects that SRAM is actually present, then all controls except for the D-pad are disabled.

Level Select (Youkai Buster only)#

Go to the options menu and hold any direction on the D-Pad for at least 5 seconds. Note that this will not work under the easy difficulty.
