The Iron Nanny

A standalone Flash version of one of the games included in Smeshariki: Kaleidoskop igr 4. Geografiya.

This is one of the very few Smeshariki/GoGoRiki games released internationally, as it was apparently translated into English by 4Kids and even got as far as Newgrounds of all places.

Unused Graphics#

A blue scribble. It might be a Flash test graphic.

A white square with a black outline. It can be seen through the Sothink SWF Quicker (outside the title screen with a menu, the game and other frames except for the loading bar). It is invisible while playing the SWF in a standalone player.

Orange text written in Arial saying "actions". Can be found outside the game frame in the SWF. It's also invisible.

Unused Animations#

Some obviously placeholder animations of Nanny catching the characters.

In the 4Kids English version, all Cyrillic letters on these animations are replaced with question marks.

Unused Music#

music1.wav

Could be an alternate action theme or a title screen theme, but it's not referenced in the scripts.

Unused Sounds#

File Name

Audio

Notes

nanya_step.wav

Nanny's running footsteps.

nanya_step1.wav

The used sound, nanya_snd.wav, which is basically a short robotic movement, combined with nanya_step.wav repeated 4 times.

ping.wav

A ding sound, presumably meant for collecting bonuses.

Debug Display#

Both versions contain a debug display which can be enabled by pressing Multiply.

It's a white rectangle at the top-left with a set of debug info, which includes:

  • A compile date and time:
2007 03 28 1505
  • Your game ID which is a value of a URL parameter t10id
  • Your score and time
  • This string:
+ подгружается t10_3

Regional Differences#

Title Screen#

Russia

International

  • The 4Kids TV logo is shown before proceeding to the title screen.
  • Some of the menu graphics were reworked.
  • The menu itself now includes More Games and Videos buttons. These were intended to redirect to the 4Kids TV's website, but the links no longer work.
  • Copyright info was added to the bottom of the screen.

Speech#

Only one speech file, Pin4.wav, is used in both versions of the game.

The speech file inclusion and usage differ between the Russian and English versions of the game.

Miscellaneous#

Russia

International

  • The status bar at the bottom of the screen includes the aforementioned More Games and Videos buttons.
  • Most of the status bar's graphics are somehow worse (more JPEG-y) quality-wise.
  • The main font used throughout the game has been changed to a bolder one.
    • That doesn't apply to a font for the final score shown at the game over screen, which seems to be crudely replaced by Helvetica.
