Swarm Assault

Swarm Assault is a real-time strategy game where you battle with swarms of ants, beetles, spiders, wasps and scorpions to control the map, originally released in 1999 and a later re-released Deluxe version in 2001.

Unused Graphics#

Scrollpoint#

Purpose unknown.

Venus plan#

Unused Venus flytrap plant which was probably meant to be the 2nd plant to appear in the first world. Growing or damage state sprites are missing.

Whip#

The game has two unused sprites which the purpose is unknown. However it is worth noting that the internal name of these sprites is OBWHIP, which is exactly the same as Popcorn's plant.

Explosion#

Unused explosion sprite, only one exists.

Red Grenadier#

Red Grenadier projectile#

This is most likely Red Grenadier projectile as its names are UNANTRGR60, UNANTRGR61 and UNANTRGR62. Whereas unused Red Grenadier sprites have names UNANTRGR54, UNANTRGR55 and UNANTRGR56.

Slapfight Fighter#

This is the most interesting unused art. Apparently there is a spaceship hidden in the game. It might be an Easter Egg or totally unused graphic. It is also worth noting that the spaceship has its own unit ID. Moreover, the fighter's projectile can be spawned in the game using HEX editor. Although spawning the spaceship crashes the game.
