This is a sub-page of Spider-Man 2 (Windows, Mac OS X).
Debug mode#
Actually, debug mode is enabled in this game by default. You can use most of the standard Unreal Engine commands, except ghost, fly and some others. But to unlock all of the hidden possibilities you need to edit some files...
Ghost/Free Camera mode#
First of all, open User.ini file in the System folder. Find [Webhead.SpideyPlayerController] line. Under this line there must be a "CheatCode=" line. Even if there is no line like this - add it or replace that line with "CheatCode=spiderjelly" (without the quotes, of course). This will allow you to use commands like "ghost", "fly", "god", "PlaceFreeCam" and maybe even more. To use these commands you need to bind them to any button you want in this same User.ini file. For example, "F11=ghost". To quit ghost/fly mode you need the "walk" command. To quit the Free Camera mode you entered using "PlaceFreeCam" command - use "FreeCam" command.
Here are the videos demonstrating all the possibilities of these features and unreachable areas of all maps:

Console access#
But what if you don't want to edit User.ini file anytime you want to check some commands? Does this game have a console? Yes, it does! But to enable it you need to do some additional file manipulations.
First of all, open the Webhead.ini file. Put these lines anywhere in this file:
[Engine.Console]
ConsoleKey=112
ConsoleGuard=spiderjelly
After that the console should be opened if you press F1 in the game. That's also the reason why you can't bind anything else to this key - it's reserved for the console. If it didn't work - there must be some other consoles overriding the key. Come back to Webhead.ini file and delete any other ConsoleKey lines that don't belong to [Engine.Console] class. Now it will work 100%. Here's how it must look in the game:
Additional Debug Possibilities#
You can use "summon" command in combination with the name of any class in the game to spawn the object of this class and do anything you want with it. There's a video showing most of the possible items to summon:
Some of them are unused. For example MovieTicket (I think you already read the information about them at the very beginning of this article) and DestructibleObject (some weird traffic cone you can shoot with your web projectiles). You can also shoot webs anytime you want just spawning the web object with this command. Not only web, but also turret bullets and Puma's blades!
Changing some lines in User.ini file, you can play as any other character in the game. Just change "Class=Webhead.SpideyPawn" at the very beginning of that file to any class you want. For example, "Webhead.RhinoPawn". Here's the video demonstration of this feature:
You can also achieve the same effect if you use "avatar [ClassName]" command, but the object of this class must be on the map. If there are no any objects, you can summon them first. So, the command "avatar webhead.rhinopawn" will make you play as Rhino if Rhino is on the map, but enemies can attack and kill your Spider-Man, which you just left standing where you were.
Some additional commands you might want to try:
- PauseMovie
Stops the cutscenes.
- ShowDebug
Shows some pointless debug information.
- SetPoints [NUMBER]
Sets the amount of points you choose as your score.
- SetBossHealth [NUMBER]
With this you can either heal the current boss, or just drain his health to zero.
- RestartLevel
Loads the game from the last checkpoint.
- set SpideyPlayerController MaxTargetDistance [NUMBER] | set SpideyPawn ZipSpeed [NUMBER]
These commands in combination can increase your zipping speed and distance, on extreme values it works almost like a teleport.
- set SpideyPawn MaxSwingDistance [NUMBER]
Increases the distance from which you can fire a web to a swing point.
- AddAdrenaline
It gives you 10% of the adrenaline.
- set SpideyPawn PunchMomentum [NUMBER] | set SpideyPawn PunchMomentumMultiplier [NUMBER]
These commands in combination make your enemies fly away from you after your hits.
- set SpideyPawn DamageMultiplier [NUMBER]
Increases the damage of Spider-Man. Set the value below 1 (example: 0.1) to decrease your damage and make the game more like that demo.
- open [MAP_NAME]
Loads any map you want. You can see the maps in the "Maps" folder of the game. An example: open TwistedCity_Part02.whr
- DebugLevelComplete
The command calls mission result screen. If you already completed the level - it will open the hidden level select menu.
- SHOWLINECHECK | SHOWEXTENTLINECHECK
These commands draw debug lines.
- set SpideyPawn bHideRegularHUD [true/false]
This command hides or shows your HUD.
- Showall | Rend collision | Show collision
Shows every trigger, collision and hidden item on the map.
- ChangeSize [NUMBER]
Makes your Spider-Man bigger or smaller. There are some weird things happen if you set the number to 0.11 or so. You can even be squashed by any pedestrians...
- Setspeed [NUMBER]
Changes the speed of your character.
- Teleport
Makes you teleport to the point you see in the center of your screen.
- SetGravity [NUMBER]
Some weird things happen if you change the gravity of the world... Set the positive value to make everything fly and negative to make everything stick to the floor.
- PlayersOnly
It stops EVERYTHING except the Spider-Man. You can't even shoot your web in this mode.
- ViewBot
This command shows some hidden thugs and etc.
- LockCamera
Locks the camera in the current position.
- Slomo [NUMBER]
1 is default. Higer value speeds the game up, lower - slows it down.
- ViewClass [ClassName]
Locks your camera on an object of the class you choose. You can try "ViewClass RhinoPawn" when Rhino is nearby, for example.
- KillAll [ClassName]
Kills all objects of the chosen class. Breaks the game in most cases.
- Preferences
The command sets the game to windowed mode and opens some menu with hidden settings.
- EditActor class=[ClassName]
Before using this command, the game must already be in windowed mode. This command allows you to edit variables of objects of any class is present on the level. You can also call "EditActor name=[ObjectName]" to edit or explore exact class instance on the map.
You can see these commands in action in these videos:

Hidden Developer Messages#
To enable developer messages, change the "bDisplayMessages" variable to True in User.ini (if the variable is not present in the file, add it under the "[Webhead.SpideyPlayerController]" class line near the CheatCode variable). It shows some dev messages at some points of the game.
