Keyboard strumming for two.
Kami Difficulty#
Changing the memory value in 0x10435E to 02 triggers an unused higher difficulty level labeled "Kami". Like the Oni difficulty, all songs display a rating of 5 in the song selection screen. While its graphics are mostly functional, the chart data appears as if playing on Normal. This difficulty would later become available in Rock'n 3.

Unused Graphics#
Main Banks 8 and 9#
Rock'n Tread Intro#
Most of the intro graphics for the original Rock'n Tread are still in the banks, though their palettes are no longer loaded.
Interface#
This icon for the Shun modifier goes unused, as it is inaccessible outside of the Linda Linda course. Forceloading the modifier also does not display the graphic.
The original icons for Oni Mode and for the non-existing Hard Mode, also from the original Rock'n Tread. Their palettes are no longer loaded, however.
Gameplay#
A sprite for an unidentified modifier which uses the kanji 極 ("Kyoku", translated to "climax", "pole", "extreme", or "zenith").
A placeholder graphic. This is also present on the Sub Banks 8 and 9.
Main Bank 13#
The "Cleared" Game Over screens from Rock'n Tread and Rock'n Tread 2 can still be found here.

Revisional Differences#
Two revisions of Rock'n MegaSession are known to exist, and are available in MAME:
- rocknmsa is an earlier version, known as "ver 1.0" by some of the ROM files.
- rocknms is a later version.
They have a few differences between each other, all of them in regard to the top screen:
- One of the background image sets appears to have been redrawn, shifting the positions of the shadows so that they line up with the background objects, rather than the character sprites. The floor in the first variant was also changed from gray to blue, and the color palette of the fourth variant is slightly different as well, having fewer green tones, noticeably near the drummer platform.

- One of the sprites of the "western" guitarist that appears when the player is performing badly is a duplicate, which was tweaked in ver 1.0 by changing the position of his right arm.
