This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Notes:

  • File names need to be changed.
  • There is a lacking amount of content here for a game that is very abundant in content. There is surely a lot missing from Mutation (update) 1.0 to now with the current Mutation 1.23 and Aliens & Anti-Vaxxers DLC. If anyone needs help, I recommend turning to the Plague Inc. wiki for more info on content if needed. Do note the general bulk of the wiki hasn't updated either since the DLC is new as of late.
  • As another thing that should be mentioned: If anything has been found in Plague Inc: Evolved, please clarify it's from that version of the game! PI: Evolved is mainly a higher-definition remake of the game for the PC and major console platforms. Because it's a remake, some things will differ from the original game. For example, the Mad Cow Disease scenario is ridiculously more difficult to get all three biohazards on due to the engine differences with RNG. So, it's better to differentiate where content came from when displaying cut or development content. Thank you.

Plague Inc. is a game about creating a disease and then using it to eradicate humanity. 25% of the game is evolving your disease to some degree, with 75% of the gameplay reserved for staring optimistically at the world map like the mad scientist you are. The game was later re-released as Plague Inc. Evolved. A new mode was added in 2020, where you can actually be a good scientist by finding a way to save the world called Plague Inc.: The Cure. Aliens, Karens, Measles, zombies (again), demons, and much more also met harmoniously on April 7, 2026 for Plague Inc.'s second major DLC: Aliens & Anti-Vaxxers.

Hi there,

looks like you are sniffing in the game bundle!
This means the game interests you so much you would like to know what it consists of.
This is what I was doing in other games as well and is probably a good start of your game
developer career. :) I always liked it if I found something special in the game data, not part
of the game itself, so I made this text (some other devs put there photos of their pets
but we are pretty memory-limtited).

I hope you are enjoying the game!
Don't forget to tell your friends about it!

Unused Scenarios#

Hell on Earth#

To do:
Put this in a prerelease page instead. Also, the screenshot is in abysmal quality and needs its file name changed.

"Humanity's time is up, Satan wants this realm subjugated. Powerful in hot temperatures, corrupt the people and the world until it is under Hell's control then destroy them all" (original placeholder description).

The original Hell on Earth scenario was accidentally leaked in-game by the developers somewhere from Mutation (update) 1.19.13 (January 3, 2024) to 1.19.16 (February 3, 2024).1 This was removed quickly after.

Eventually, the scenario was completed and officially released in tandem with the Aliens & Anti-Vaxxers DLC, along with a revised description:

"It's time to subjugate the world! Unleash a heat-loving, hell-spawned plague to corrupt people, animals and even the world itself. Satan is waiting in the depths..."

Unused Music#

Necroa Virus#

A track for the Necroa Virus for Plague Inc.: Evolved called Z Com Falls. Included in the soundtrack release.

Unused Graphics#

Bubbles#

Plague Inc. really likes bubbles, doesn't it?

Neurax Worm Bubble#

The unused Neurax Worm bonus bubble.

Necroa Virus Bubbles#

The unused Necroa Virus bubble for Target Ability.

The unused Necroa Virus bubble for Zombie Magnet Ability.

Interestingly enough, a third ability for the Necroa virus in the Zombies vs. Earth scenario in the Aliens & Anti-vaxxers DLC (from Plague Inc.: Evolved) called Infestation was added. It attracts zombies and automatically sends random numbers of hordes from neighboring countries to locate and gather to an infestation site (in the appearance of a Vampire Lair) similar to the Ape Colony ability from the Simian Flu. The functionality works akin to a magnet as for the zombie attraction, so the functionality may have been reworked for this new ability in that scenario.

Cure Mode Bubbles#

A special bubble that would've originally appeared in the Cure mode, which would've shown up when a country's healthcare system is collapsed.

A bubble that also would've appeared in the Cure mode, appearing when the player found the origin country of a virus.

Yet another bubble that would've appeared in Cure mode, appearing when a country has a large percentage of deaths. It was replaced by a bubble that has a skull icon on it.

Icons#

AIDS#

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Do we have anything regarding how much data we have for the HIV/AIDS scenario besides the scenario icon and condom trait? If so, we can have this be under the "Unused Scenarios" header in Hell on Earth 's spot. Here is the wiki page for the disease scenario.

The unused condom trait icon for the unused AIDS scenario.

There was an official HIV/AIDS scenario that was planned to be released under Mutation 1.7, but it went unused in the end. It wasn't released because it would be very immoral to release a scenario of a real-world disease that many others go through to this day (that isn't in a controlled state).2 This is further supported when The Cure mode was released back in November 1, 2020 as part of Mutation 1.18, where the corresponding mode for the original Plague Inc. was free to download3 (and the DLC for Plague Inc.: Evolved in January 2021 later on) during the time when COVID-19 was classified as a threat around the world.4 Speaking of The Cure...

Cure Mode#

The original icon for the "Vaccine Manufacturing" operation, which was used in early versions of Cure Mode. The final game uses a different icon.
