"Ningyo no rakuin" (literally "Mark of the Mermaid") is a horror-themed tactical JRPG, very similar in gameplay to "Final Fantasy Tactics".
It follows the story of Keisuke and Mizuki, a couple of highschoolers who crash-land on an island during a school vacation. Together with other survivors of the crash and a group of natives of the island, they must face a dangerous cult that seeks a human sacrifice to awaken their elder god.
The game borrows rather heavily from Lovecraftian lore, particularly in several secondary characters' names. Also of note, it has several different endings depending on decisions made by the player during the course of the gameplay.
