Character Portraits#
Old static portraits that were replaced by animated ones later in development. Some reveal early designs and names for characters.
AIYi#

An early portrait, likely of Ruyi (named 'AIYi' in the game's files). It is a darker, more sinister-looking design for Ruyi's hologram. It also resembles Yi more, with Yi's clothes.
Fish2000#

Portrait of a 'Fish2000', which would (presumably) evolve into the Shanhai 9000 NPCs further in development. The robot in the portrait contains a real fish and water inside it's head rather than holograms of virtual fish. It also has floating hands and a green tinted, smaller body.
Goumang#

Static portraits of Goumang (both stylized as "GouMang" in the files), both in a slightly different angle as well as an obscured version. Her character design is the same in the final game.
Heng#

Early portrait designs of an adult and a young Heng. Both have light green colored clothes. Adult Heng also has two black streaks above her eyes and green smoke-like decoration on her back.
Chiyou#

A rough sketch of Chiyou (stylized 'ChiYou' in the files). His design is the same in the final game as well.
Ji#

An uncolored sketch of Ji's portrait, with his design using a cloak instead of his hat. The hat's green eye has also been moved to his forehead here.
Jiequan#

Portrait of Jiequan ('JieChuan' in the files, an early name of this character). Like with Goumang and Chiyou, his design is the same in the final version.
Kuafu#

Portraits of Kuafu (both 'KuaFu' in the files), including an obscured version. The design is different from the final game, having a green and black suit with the boba-tea glass on his chest being gone.
Lear#

Portrait of Lear. His design is mostly unchanged, aside from having early Heng's black stripes below his eyes.
Yanlao#

Portrait of Yanlao ('TaoChang' in the file, an early name of this character). His design is mostly the same in the final game, although the broom he floats on is missing from this portrait.
Shuanshuan#

Shuanshuan's portrait ('XiaoCang' in the files, an early name of this character) in his ceremonial outfit with the Crimson Hibiscus. His portrait uses different shading from the final version, as well as a small dirty patch being present on Shuanshuan's face.
Yi#

Portraits of adult and young Yi. His adult design has narrower eyes and a rougher face and ears. The young portrait is mostly the same as in the final game, with the only differences being the linework and Yi looking at the screen.
Area related graphics#
Peach Blossom Village#

An early draft of the altar manga cutscene where Yi saves Shuanshuan. Yi's talismans are pink instead of green, and there is a panel where Shuanshuan's eyes are visible (or rather one eye). There is also a panel depicting the other shamans. The harvesting platform is missing in this draft.
Power Reservoir#

Draft art of General Yingzhao's manga cutscene before he fights Yi. This draft is vastly different from the final manga cutscene.
Agricultural Zone#
Manga cutscene where Goumang's legs explode because of some sort of malfunction of her bell. The bell itself also has a different design, having a red diamond shape in it's middle and being darker overall. This cutscene was likely an alternate version of her post-fight scene.

Page 3:

Alternate sprites of injured Goumang post-fight.

Drafts of Goumang's Soulscape memories. These drafts are vastly different from the final sprites, with the last one depicting her being escorted on a palanquin by the Jiangshi soldiers.
Transmutation Factory#

Kanghui's head sprites. The first one is him without a blindfold, revealing his eyes, though the eyeballs are absent. In the second sheet of unused sprites, his eyes are covered by a fleshy line with various cyan eyes. This was most likely for an interaction where you could break his helmet.

Draft art of Jiequan's boss intro, and post-fight manga cutscenes. The first panel (presumably belonging to the intro) also shows an interaction between Yi and Ji, likely in the Transmutation Factory too, before Jiequan enters the scene to fight Yi while Ji flees.
Cortex Center#

Drafts of Lady Ethereal's memories in her Soulscape ('FuDieVR' in the files). All of them are unshaded.
Grotto of Scriptures#

Early art of the spiked ball hazards found in the Grotto of Scriptures.

Concept art of a room with a Secret Mural, with Lear dabbing in the painting (likely an inside joke).

Ji with his cape separated.
Empyrean District#

A piece of (somewhat explicit) concept art of Nobility Hall, including Nuwa and Fuxi.

Draft art of Fuxi's limbs and his body. Mostly unshaded and uncolored.
Miscellaneous Graphics#

Concept art of the Mystic Nymph's different switch designs, and the Nymph's icon itself.

Either an unused Kunpeng Division enemy or an unused version/design of the pilotable version found in some areas. Unlike the final pilotable mech, the robot is holding a spear and shield instead of a mace.
Crude art of a Shanhai 9000's icon, depicted as sitting down.

An unused "ZombieGrabber" enemy that is modeled after the Geno-Guard Embryo enemies in Transmutation Factory. It could possibly have a grab-attack (similar to the final boss's talisman attack or the Sky Rending Claw's grab attack), and possibly also being an introduction to Unbounded Counters (as the embryo enemies are found in the Transmutation Factory, and the same cluster of areas introduces you to Unbounded Counters).

Another unused enemy, modeled after the Frog Hex Officers in Agricultural Zone, that uses two long tails on it's back with sharp ends to attack the player.
A generic work-in-progress icon of Kuafu fixing something while looking at the viewer with discomfort. This was likely used as a placeholder for any unfinished graphical asset.
