Nethergate

Spiderweb's first isometric RPG, Nethergate comprises two campaigns that tell a historical fantasy tale from opposing Celtic and Roman perspectives.

To do:
Lots of held-over text from the Exile series.

Chapter Intros#

Each chapter is introduced with a title and epigraph. For example, this is how the Roman campaign begins:

1

Arrival

Forget not, Roman, that it is your special genius to rule the people; to impose the ways of peace, to spare the defeated, and to crush those proud men who will not submit. - Virgil, Aeneid

The game's strings include an alternative set of titles and quotations, used as placeholders during development:

1

The Joy Begins

"I live every moment of every day in unimaginable pain, alternating with brief moments of less pain." - Silas, the Critic4

2

War of the Wankers

"I don't have low self-esteem ... I have low esteem for everyone else." - Daria Morgendorfer

3

Plot Ticket #1

"She says the sex is really good. It's one of the three legs holding up love's stool: sex, liking his brain, and then kind of accepting who he is because you're never going to change him anyway." - Shelly Vincouer, Northern Exposure

4

Plot Ticket #2

"Friends are just enemies who don't have the guts to kill you." - Judy Tenuta

5

Plot Ticket #3

"I've been having a sharp, burning sensation in my Nethergate." - Unofficial motto of the Nethergate development team.

6

Endgame

"Figure out what sucks, then don't do that." - Motto of some software company guy on CNN5
