Unused Graphics

This is a sub-page of Minecraft Dungeons.

To do:
Look into the Resource Packs and add the unused block textures from them.

Model Textures#

Gauntlet Render Arms#

A pair of unused textures used in the renders of the Gauntlets and Fighter's Bindings, but since those are prerendered, the textures are not used in the game itself.
It depicts Hal's arms with the Gauntlets layered on top.

Obsidian Monstrosity#

An unused texture for the Obsidian Monstrosity.
The texture is used in Minecraft Dungeons Arcade, where the Obsidian Monstrosity is the final boss of the Obsidian Pinnacle, however in the main game the Obsidian Monstrosity only appears as broken down and lifeless, leaving this texture unused.
Of note, there is no open eyed texture and the unused texture doesn't have the extra parts from where the mesh is cut up in the final game.

Ministrosity Mushrooms#

To do:
Get a screenshot of the Glowing Ministrosity's mushroom with the in-game shaders.

In each of the Minsitrosity textures, there's graphics for mushrooms that are normally unseen in the models.
There is no Mooshroom Ministrosity and the UV maps of the Ministrosities don't have mapping for the mushrooms.

UI Textures#

An older logo for the game. It's a lot less detailed and was not even used in the reveal trailer, which gives an idea of how old this logo actually is.

Secret Mission Map Graphics#

Graphics that were intended to be used on the Mission Select Map, presumably once you unlocked Secret Missions.

Locked Secret Mission Placeholder Icon#

An obvious placeholder graphic for a locked secret level.

Secret Chest#

An icon for a secret chest depicting a Fancy Chest with chains around it.
Purpose is currently unknown outside of the filename.

Daily Trials#

Wings and Difficulty icons for Daily Trials.
The final game uses numbers for the difficulties instead of threat icons as well as either 2 or 5 diamonds in the wings, leaving these graphics unused.
Interestingly, the graphics have 2 difficulties before Default Difficulty.
The Minecraft Dungeons Twitter used these unused graphics in a Tweet on September 25th 2020.

Weekly Trials#

Graphics that would have been used for the scrapped Weekly Trials.
The unused difficulty icons are present here as well.

Early Howling Peaks Map#

An early version of the Howling Peaks land mass shown on the Mission Select screen that has the text DEV shown in the middle.

Alternate Nether Fortress Loading Screen#

An unused loading screen for the Nether Fortress, the final graphic ended up being in a completely different place instead of the Blaze arena.

Unused Nether Fortress Loading Screen

Used Nether Fortress Loading Screen

Ancient Hunt Icons#

Icons for the Ancient Hunt UI depicting numerous mobs that are not Ancient Mobs. A number of them are summoned by Ancient Mobs however they aren't shown in the UI.

Elytra Inventory Icon#

The Elytra doesn't appear in the player's inventory, however it has graphics for doing so.

Icon Map#

A graphic icon and a texture depicting something called an Icon Map.

Tower Avatar Portrait#

While this skin is used in The Tower, it's not obtainable in normal gameplay, leaving the portrait graphic for it in the skin selector unused.
