This is a sub-page of Mega Man: The Wily Wars.

There's a good chunk of regional differences to be seen between the Japanese and International releases of the game.
General Differences#
Japan |
USA |
Europe |
|---|---|---|
For the copyright info that displays before the title screen, the Japanese version shows the Capcom copyright info and the license information near at the center of the screen. The USA version (or at least the one from the Sega Genesis Mini) adds some spacing between the Capcom copyright and the license information to add two lines of copyright info for Capcom USA. The European version removes the Capcom USA copyright info leaving only a blank space.

As per tradition with Mega Man games until Mega Man 8, the main logo style is radically different between the Japanese version and the international versions. Of note, because of the different (and bigger) logo in the international versions, the copyright text has been moved further down as well. Every instance of "Push Start" was also changed to "Press Start", including the game-specific title screens.

Any mentions of "Rockman" are replaced with "Megaman", including on the file select screen.

While the main logo was radically altered for the international market, the game selection screen retains the Japanese logos while replacing "Rock" with "Mega". Capcom would later recycle this idea starting with Mega Man 8 and onward.

The logos have also been changed in the title screens for each individual game. This is in stark contrast to the NES originals, which used a much different angular logo. Both the NES and Wily Wars versions of 2 and 3 removed the Japanese versions' subtitles: Dr. Wily no Nazo (Eng. The Mystery of Dr. Wily) and Dr. Wily no Saigo!? (Eng. The End of Dr. Wily!?) respectively.

Continuing with the inconsistent logo, the Japanese release maintains a consistent triangle-and-word theme while the international releases uses the block font from the main title screen and Roman numerals. It also inverts the colors, for whatever reason. "Push Start" was changed to "Press Start" in International versions, and Clash Man was renamed Crash Man in International versions, like in the NES versions. The "Press Start" text change also applied to the International Wily Wars version of Mega Man 3, even though the original NES version said "Push Start" in all regions.

The Wily Tower bonus game uses the background from Mega Man, complete with logo, but in shades of purple.

Dr. Light is named "Dr. Right" in Japan, and as such the Wily Tower item selection screen uses the respective names in each region. And, again, "Rock" was changed to "Mega".
Header Oddity#
The Japanese version has "MEGAMAN THE WILY WARS" as its header, for some reason.
