MaxPlay Classic Games is an unlicensed compilation of 10 also-unlicensed Game Boy Advance games, slapped onto a PS2/GameCube disc. As if that wasn't lousy enough, the PS2 version plays music over the games rather than using the native music and sounds.

Internal Names#

The GameCube version includes a list of games, along with the offsets on disc and file sizes. However, the ROM names are unused. There are also some extra entries after the end with joke names taken from various songs by The Darkness, Bon Jovi, The Monkees, Eminem, and Dido.

The list of names is at 50097D98 (8009AE98 in memory) in the European release and 50098398 (8009B498 in memory) in the US release. The table itself is located at 500992A4 (8009C3A4 in memory) in the European release and 500998A0 (8009C9A0 in memory) in the US release.

Unused Game#

A complete copy of Metroid Fusion is present in the folder DELETE_ME(nice going, guys) in the PS2 version. It was likely used to test the emulator.

Unused Audio#

As noted above, in the PS2 version every native sound and music track of the GBA games go unused. This is more than likely due to the emulator for that version not being able to play sound.
