Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to the hit games Spider-Man & Spider-Man: Miles Morales by Insomniac, now featuring two Spider-Men!
Debug Menu#
|
|
Please elaborate. |
In update 1.002.000 released on March 7, 2024, Insomniac accidentally left debug menus active in the game. Inside which, you can give yourself god mode, warp to the end of the game, entirely trivializing the New Game+ trophy, and any other trophies. This was fixed with a hotfix patch a day later.
A menu can be opened at any time by pressing the Touchpad button and Options button simultaneously. In the save file select menu, pressing L3 opens a mission select menu, and pressing R3 goes to the debug frontend.
Unused Models#
|
|
To do: |
Several models for scrapped symbiotes were found in the game. Their presence suggests that all the Life Foundation Symbiotes were originally going to appear in the game alongside Venom, as opposed to only Scream who made it into the final game

Unused Boss Fight#
Watch on YouTubeUsing the debug menu, it is possible to spawn the scrapped Riot symbiote as a fightable boss fight. He has several attacks, animations and sound effects. It can also be killed, although his ragdoll physics upon death are very glitchy.
His model and attacks are very similar to the Symbiote Behemoth enemies from the final game. This means that either they were meant to be lesser versions of Riot or that Riot's model and animations were repurposed for those enemies after his appearance was scrapped.
Unused Missions#
Meteor#
Watch on YouTubeUnder the "test missions" category in the debug menu is a very early, unfinished mission, that would've taken place during Act 2 of the main campaign, called Meteor. In which, Peter travels by train to an unknown forest location to find a secret Oscorp base, presumably housing the very same Meteor that Venom later grabs from an underground Oscorp lab in New York City.
Due to most dev content being stripped from the release build of the game, the scripts for Meteor are missing, thus the mission cannot be traditionally played as it was. The YouTube video presents the mission, as it was, before Insomniac later hotfixed the game to remove the debug menu.
Beetle Villain Arc#
Under the Category "Silver Path" in the debug menu there are several folders containing all the side quests and activities in the game, one notable folder is named "Beetle Villain Arc" which would've likely featured a chain of side missions centered around Beetle as the main villain of those missions. It is unknown if those were scrapped missions from the game or scrapped plans for a future Beetle DLC.
The folder contains names for several cutscenes, side activities and missions, culminating in a possible boss fight against Beetle:
Beetle Janice Intro
Beetle Reveal
Beetle Construction
Beetle Ambush
Beetle Battlefield
Beetle Bridge
Beetle Convoy
Beetle Hostages
Beetle Boss
Unused Area#
Watch on YouTubeUsing a glitch that lets the player get out of bounds, it is possible to reach an unused area that was once meant to be used as Kraven's base or an arena, similar to the one where Miles fought Martin Li in the final game. While the player cannot fully reach the room, it is possible to use photo mode to properly observe the entire area.
The most notable discovery in that room is an unused throne that Kraven was meant to sit on, with the severed heads of the villains he previously killed displayed as hunting trophies. Surprisingly, Rhino's head is also there, meaning that he was also meant to be killed by Kraven. With this room being left unused and no further mentions of his fate, his death is not confirmed in the final game.
